THEM: How to MEDITATE?
ME: This is the beginning, the easiest step.
Third eye chakra meditation ποΈ
This simply consists of relaxing and dropping all the cerebral activity of the mind and drop the energy from the crown down to the throat.
So in practice it simply becomes this
Allowing the eyes to close by themselves.π
This practice is actually called the dhrishti, or where one places their attention
Scripture describes it as focusing on the tip of the nose and with half closed eye lids and you'll often see it in art eg Buddha always is exhibiting this dhrishti
But I like how I describe it, and I've understood it. Allowing the eyes to close by themselves... It's harder than you'd think and after only moments it does become an almost strenuous meditation as you fight the egos will to perpetual activity.
Try it and you'll immediately see how you're doing overtime on the cerebral energy β‘π§
It needs to be relaxed, and coaxed into dropping down to the throat, ultimately to the heart to meet the lower force rising from the root. This is the full meditation and control of the subtle pranas within. The next part is breath control where breath is inhaled and exhaled as well as held in and out in this four-fold interval.
These are all meant to be done at the same time!
Finally the last part of this dhyana yoga is to meditate on the brahman energy which is basically like a giant sun of golden energy, so meditating on that as your own form.
This is how meditation is taught in the Vedas and I've only described one set of a greater even more elaborate yoga.
I mean there are even more steps that can be added to this basic set but yes, here it is.
Others might say you can perform all 8 angas or limbs of yoga at once and it is true, yet there are many more obscure additional parts to this basic dhyana yoga(meditation).
Visualization of the brahman is a real yoga, I've seen it manifest in a mirror in a darkened room
But it appeared like I was surrounded by blue fire and it was burning up all the astral entities in my aura
The blue fire is interesting because ya know I'm evoking this golden very pure energy but it came through my own aura as blue perhaps? Not sure but I'll never forget it. I sometimes remind myself about that when things are getting hairy-scary π±
And I do like to tell people about it like, it is real when you visualize these forces but,
The thing is it's difficult to invoke or evoke something which you've never seen before of which you weren't even consciously aware.
So when you read hippie star child authors say oh visualize yourself surrounded by golden energyπππ
They're actually right
The brahman energy is a real force, a powerful energy!
It will manifest in your aura if you visualize it surrounding and bathing you.
Anyway cheers and keep it up
O yeah but this dhyana can be done anywhere doing anything, the first and second steps that meet in the heart, that's called the "mahabandha" which I think of as "the great lock" because instead of disipating your prana at those two points you're instead holding it in and building it up.
It will restore health it burns up sins and karmas
It should never be carelessly taught to unworthy undeserving persons
So I just wanna say to elucidate on this dhyana yoga I'm describing, one of the other disciplines that can be added to one elaborate meditation is MANTRA.
Though you see, mantra is NOT one of the classical 8 limbs of yoga yet in legitimate practice it is essential.
True yoga is actually very rigorous and it's more difficult than the hatha physical yoga
What I'm describing is called raja yoga the higher yoga
These are very advanced practices.
