During his presidency, President Carter championed initiatives aimed at fostering peace and combating inequality. Under his leadership, the United States played a key role in supporting the transition to independence for African nations.

After leaving office, President Carter's work with The Carter Center continued to uplift Africa. He spearheaded groundbreaking programs to eradicate diseases such as Guinea worm, bringing hope and health to millions.
