Bipolar Studio is a high end, boutique production company located in the heart of the Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles.

From concept to color, this was one of our most complicated projects to pull off. We loved the experimental nature of this film. One of the most important elements for us was the lightning itself. It’s what creates the Taycan.

We went through different iterations and visual experiments to find and create a unique look and character for the lightning. As it strikes down and begins to create the Taycan, the beam of light breaks down into different prismatic color spectrums. We see what the lightning itself is made of when seen up close, and in a diluted time. A single entity moves in a frozen world - light.

After different location scouts and concept art explorations, we had found our crater. We then meticulously sculpted and groomed dozens of wildebeests and storks. The final film is visually not a car spot but in a way an opening scene into a superhero movie. And that’s what we set out to achieve.

Pilots in two different vehicles converge at high speeds, aligning with each other for a brief encounter.

We wanted to create a cinematic with the Porsche 911 Turbo S that felt more like a short or a segment from a film, rather than a traditional commercial.

It was important for us to capture the dual nature of the vehicle; the minimal, almost sculptural beauty with the brutal force that propels it into motion. Through art direction, cinematography, and animation we brought this feeling out, a feeling that in one word we defined as: brutality.

Where’d the name “Poochini” come from? Our curiosity led us to Giacomo Puccini, the great Italian opera composer born in the 1850s.

We got to thinking: what if our pet parent’s husband was a fan of Opera? What if he’s Italian? We thought it would make for a fun, unique story with a lot of character.

Food is so important in our story – and it’s so important to Italian culture. The idea of an Italian woman “spoiling” her dog with lots of heavy food seemed to dovetail organically with this concept.

You’ll notice the score for our short itself was inspired by Puccini’s work, specifically Musetta's Waltz from the 1896 opera La bohème.

Our Story

Bipolar Studio is a high end, boutique production company located in the heart of the Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles. We work with agencies & brands directly to execute stories & visuals. We obsess over details to maximize every pixel and minimize every line item. Biologically merging film, art, science and computer generated imagery we create something radically new. Practicing traditional and VR across all mediums.

HISTORY

Bipolar Studio was born in 2015 through a magnetic pull of forces of desire to bring ideas to life. Though a short time, you could say we've already accomplished a few cool things.

We made the first ever stabilized 1st person POV content in VR with "O2 Wear the Rose", back when VR wasn't so cool. We patented the first ever VR stabilization technology, saying goodbye to dizziness from moving cameras.
