Grown Ups was produced by Sandler's production company Happy Madison Productions and was distributed by Columbia Pictures. Despite receiving unfavorable reviews from critics, it grossed $271 million and led to a sequel, Grown Ups 2, in 2013. In 1978, childhood friends Lenny Feder, Eric Lamonsoff, Kurt McKenzie, Marcus Higgins, and Rob Hilliard win their junior high basketball championship. They celebrate at a lake house with their coach Robert "Buzzer" Ferdinando.
Thirty years later in 2008, Lenny is a wealthy and successful Hollywood talent agent, married to fashion designer Roxanne and has three children named Greg, Keithie, and Becky. Eric claims to co-own a lawn furniture company and has two children named Donna and Bean. His wife Sally still breastfeeds Bean. Kurt is a stay-at-home father, has two children named Andre and Charlotte, his wife Deanne is pregnant with their third child, and her mother Ronzoni lives with them. When Buzzer dies, the five friends reunite for his funeral in their hometown with their families. Lenny rents the Earnshaw family's lake house for everyone to stay over Fourth of July weekend, though his family is leaving early to attend Roxanne's fashion show in Milan. He pushes Greg and Keithie to play outside and runs into his childhood opponent Dickie, who claims Lenny's foot was out of bounds when he made the winning shot.
As the friends spread Buzzer's ashes, Rob breaks down over his failed marriages and reveals that he has invited his estranged daughters Jasmine, Amber, and Bridget to visit. The men play “arrow roulette”, shooting an arrow straight into the air and Rob wins by not running for cover, but the arrow impales his left foot. Lenny is thrilled to find the kids playing with cup-and-string telephones; Roxanne realizes the positive impact the weekend is having on their children, and tells Lenny to cancel their Milan trip and stay at the lake instead.
Everyone visits Water Wizz where Marcus flirts with Jasmine and Amber after buying them skimpy bikinis, and Eric teaches Bean to drink real milk. The families cause chaos throughout the park: the wives attract a bodybuilder, then jeer at his high-pitched Canadian accent; Rob assaults slide attendant Norby when he insults Bridget, and Eric ignores Donna's warning about a chemical in the children's pool that turns urine blue. At the zipline attraction, Lenny's group meet up with Dickie and his former teammates including Wiley, who is severely injured after crashing into a shed while sliding down the zipline by his feet.

Mortal Kombat 2 will finally introduce Johnny Cage to the rebooted movie franchise, but the fan-favorite's debut may not work quite as well as it could have done due to the choices made surrounding the film series' new protagonist. 2021's Mortal Kombat movie received largely lukewarm reviews, partially due to some of the creative decisions as the video games were adapted again. The movie established fresh pieces of canon, such as Mortal Kombat's Arcana powers, which weren't present in the source material. With a sequel on the horizon, Mortal Kombat's future may be negatively impacted by its past.

Mortal Kombat's Cole Young was an original character developed especially for the 2021 movie. Cole's golden armor and Arcana powers are loosely based on established lore, but they did take some creative liberties. The decision to have a new character lead the Mortal Kombat reboot has been criticized, with many believing a pre-existing figure from the Mortal Kombat universe would have been a better option. Thankfully, the Mortal Kombat 2 cast brings Karl Urban into the fold to embody the legendary Johnny Cage. What remains to be seen is whether it's too little too late.

G.I. Joe is an American media franchise and a line of action figures owned and produced by the toy company Hasbro. The film follows Anduin Lothar of Stormwind and Durotan of the Frostwolf clan as heroes set on opposite sides of a growing war, as the warlock Gul'dan leads the Horde to invade Azeroth using a magic portal. Together, a few human heroes and dissenting Orcs must attempt to stop the true evil behind this war and restore peace.
The film was first announced in 2006 as a project partnership between Legendary Pictures and the game's developer, Blizzard Entertainment. Warcraft premiered in Paris on May 24, 2016, and was released by Universal Pictures in the United States on June 10, 2016. Though it underperformed domestically and received generally negative reviews from critics, the film managed to gross $439 million worldwide making it the highest-grossing video game adaptation of all time. Draenor, homeworld to the orcs, is being torn apart by a mysterious force known as fel magic. Gul'dan, an orc warlock, unites the orc clans into the Horde, and creates a portal to the world of Azeroth by using fel magic to drain the life out of captive draenei. Gul'dan leads a small warband through the portal to capture and sacrifice prisoners on Azeroth to bring the Horde. Durotan, the chieftain of the Frostwolf Clan, his pregnant mate Draka, and his friend Orgrim Doomhammer join this initial warband. When the orcs arrive on Azeroth, Draka goes into labor, and Gul'dan rescues the dying baby, named Go'el, by draining the life out of a nearby deer to revive and infuse them with fel magic. The orcs raid several settlements throughout Azeroth. Anduin Lothar, commander of the human forces of Stormwind Kingdom, finds a trespassing mage named Khadgar investigating the bodies of the slain men, who explains that the bodies contained traces of fel magic. Stormwind's king, Llane Wrynn, sends them to the stronghold Karazhan to inform Medivh, the Guardian of Tirisfal, of the fel magic's presence on Azeroth.
