Are you sitting on a story you have to tell? Jess Taylor, editor and former literary agent is on the It Has To Be Me podcast spilling the tea about what makes compelling writing, and why people will be drawn to your unique voice.
Together, we explore crafting narrative, developing plot and character, relishing language, and leveraging our curiosity. Jess brings in “incidentation”—a concept he learned from a great TV writer—and why sometimes “telling” over “showing” is the way to go. Then walks us through how to live in a story so it's real to you, to get to the place where your characters make choices before you do. That's how your story takes on its own internal drive.
You’ll hear about the power of the zero draft (just talk it out!), the best way to test-drive your ideas, when it’s time to work with an editor and how to find the right one, and the evolving role of AI in the writing process.

Nervous about staying on track with your health goals during the holidays? You're not going to "undo" all of the work you've done all year by enjoying festive foods with family and friends. Find a balance of self-care and fun, and use the holidays as an opportunity to gather data about your relationship with food, and which foods make your body feel good and which foods don't. Make some different choices and see how you feel. And, eat some raw foods and fermented foods and stay hydrated to balance the effects of your favorite treats. I'm sharing the tips I give members of our 60-Day Reset on the It Has To Be Me this week.

It’s holiday season! We want to celebrate with our family and friends, participate in culinary traditions, eat our favorite festive foods, and make beautiful memories.
But, a lot of the traditional holiday foods are difficult to digest. It’s joyful while we’re eating, and then the food coma kicks in. We feel gassy, bloated, and want to take a nap.
Then, inflammation, extra weight, aches and pains, and sleep issues create a long holiday hangover that’s hard to recover from.
Rather than depriving yourself of the foods you love or stressing about your food choices, enjoy the holidays in balance so you can stay on track with your health goals AND have fun!
