With family and intimate partners, we often use short-hand communication, relying on shared history and assumptions.
Or we don’t verbalize what we need at all and expect others to be mind readers.
There is an expectation that the people close to us should know what we want and give it to us.
To avoid resentment and conflict, shift into long-hand communication.
State your intentions cleanly and clearly, and ask for time or clarification from others.
I've given this strategy to hundreds of members of our 60-Day Reset. It is so effective.
