For a long time I was not very good at being kind to myself or showing myself compassion when it came to my s*xual abuse.

Talking to people that are safe was huge for my healing. That alongside the right therapist meant that I could be happy.

You don’t deserve to suffer in silence. There are people in this world that can be far kinder to you than you.

1. Grooming - My Grandad taught me about s*x at 7 years old. Manipulated me and completely controlled the narrative.

2. R**e - Took my virginity at 8 years old against my will and I completely froze

3. Silence - Scared me into keeping it a secret and made me believe that I would be in a lot of trouble if people found out

4. Shame - could use a multitude of words but essentially my brain and nervous system was re wired after this and it led to a lot of problems all the way up until I was 34.

I was 34 years old before I had the courage to face my abuse.
Life before that was tough, some days it was difficult to get out of bed, get dressed, whatever tasks society says are simple.

If that is you I’m sending you strength. A survivors life is incredibly difficult. Some days are harder than others but if today you want to celebrate putting one foot in front of the other and having a shower then my friend….

I will celebrate with you ❤️❤️❤️
