The classic twirl is kind of my signature move, and can I just say I feel extra amazing doing it with a parasol. The parasol definitely adds to the wow factor in my opinion and it was one of the easier things to make. I purchased a costume umbrella frame in the right size and stem length, and took it apart. There are little pegs at the end of each spoke, and once they’re removed the fabric can be taken off the frame. I popped the seam on one of the panels and used it as a pattern piece. I wore this gown twice, once to a light parade, which is what it was initially designed for, and to a Halloween pub crawl the second time. Unfortunately, a lot of my costumes are very delicate, and can’t really stand up to much wear, so this costume is one that had to be permanently retired from wear after a few dead strings and a popped seam in the bodice.
