That night, I couldn’t sleep. How had I missed this massive red flag? Was this the man I had married? But if Matt and his mother thought I was just going to roll over and obey, they were about to get the shock of their lives.

The next morning, I put on my sweetest smile and said over breakfast, “You know what, Matt? You’re right. Let’s give your mom’s system a try.”

When my daughter announced her engagement, I was over the moon!
