Signature Licensing Destinations

Signature Licensing Destinations New marketplaces are opening up, and the business of licensing and merchandising in fast growing countries is still very much underdeveloped.

Rising economies comprise more than half of the world’s population, accounting for a large share of the world output, with high growth rates in television audience, mobile usage, internet pe*******on, and disposable income – all indicators of enormous opportunities for brand and property owners. Designed primarily to facilitate deals in countries where licensing business growth potential exceeds,

by far, that of developed ones, SIGNATURE will be launched in 2012 as a new turnkey program of meeting-centric events, featuring in its inaugural year the Polish, Turkish, Korean and Russian marketplaces, with additional countries scheduled to be covered in 2013. Following extensive research conducted with key industry players from various parts of the world, the strategic licensing destinations selected by SIGNATURE are chosen for these key reasons:

- Size of the population
- Strength of retail infrastructures
- A rapidly growing and multi-faceted media sector
- Economic freedom
- Ability to enforce intellectual property laws
- Ability to stimulate middle-class consumption

Taking a radical turn from massive industry gatherings, each SIGNATURE event is centered on meetings organized in advance by SIGNATURE’s staff, between an optimal number of qualified participants representing licensors and licensing agents, with as many qualified manufacturers, retailers, advertisers and their agencies as possible, all of whom are involved in the targeted country’s vibrant licensed property sectors. As rights holders, EXHIBITING SELLERS are offered low-cost, all-inclusive participating packages, designed to allow them to compete on a level playing-field, so that they can focus on planning their meetings. SIGNATURE delivers the qualified leads and prospects our participants are searching for in the target country. The cost to our exhibiting sellers never exceeds 200 Euros per qualified meeting held at each of our events. The first SIGNATURE event will cover Poland, to take place in Warsaw, on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 January, 2012, at the conveniently located Marriott Hotel.

Free Stuff * Clothing and footwear markets in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slova

After a major downturn on the Central European retail markets in 2009, last year brought an improvement in the clothing and footwear (C&F) industry. However, growth did not return to all countries. The slowdown continued in Hungary and Slovakia in 2010, whereas the Czech Republic’s fashion market stagnated. Between 2011 and 2013, all of the CE clothing and footwear markets analysed are expected to improve, although at different rates, and to achieve sales worth more than €15bn in 2013.

Merchandise sales drive Pixar's 'Cars' franchise

In the five years since its 2006 release, "Cars" has generated global retail sales approaching $10 billion, according to Disney. That ranks the Pixar film alongside such cinematic merchandising standouts as "Star Wars," "Spider-Man" and "Harry Potter," as well as its own paean to playthings, "Toy Story," according to researcher NPD.

When it comes to sequels, "Cars 2" flies in the face of conventional Hollywood calculus. Its predecessor was the least well-reviewed of Pixar Animation Studios ' 11 movies and among its poorest performers at the box office — at least, by the premier animation studio's sterling sta
