Did you know that in 2014, two wealthy fans paid $300,000 to eat lasagne with Bruce Springsteen at his house? Springsteen started off the annual Stand Up For Heroes event by playing an acoustic set, then offering the instrument to the highest bidder. When bidding reached $60,000, he threw in a guitar lesson, which someone offered $250,000 for. At this point, he offered up a lasagne dinner at his house, a ride around the block in the sidecar of his motorbike and the shirt off of his back. All the money went to the Bob Woodruff Foundation, which helps injured servicemen and their families when they return home.

A very good gig for the fans and Springsteen. The best part it was all for charity.

INDUSTRY WIRE: Gene Simmons from the band responds to Kanye West’s antisemitic outbursts: “Take the medication”

Gene Simmons has responded to Kanye West‘s recent antisemitic comments, saying the rapper should surround himself with “nicer people” and urging him to take medication.

The KISS bassist made the comments during a recent interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored, where he was asked if he thinks Jewish people should accept an apology from West for his recent antisemitic outbursts, which saw his Instagram and Twitter accounts both suspended and drew widespread criticism.

Speaking to Morgan on the show, Simmons — who is Jewish — said he’d never met West, but “from everything I’ve heard… he sounds really wounded, he sounds hurt, so he’s lashing out.”

--Last week, West’s most recent label Universal Music Group shared a statement denouncing antisemitism and his bank, JPMorgan Chase, cut ties with him.

During a gig at The Los Angeles Coliseum, in California, (opening for The Rolling Stones,) Guns N' Roses front man Axl Rose announced that this would be the last Guns N' Roses concert unless the band members "got their s**t together." He was referring to their use of he**in. The band of course continued to record successfully ever since.

Foo Fighters 'should' have new studio album out in 2020.

Taylor Hawkins has revealed that FOO FIGHTERS will begin work on their tenth studio album later this year. The drummer stated that FOO FIGHTERS' planned follow-up to 2017's "Concrete And Gold": "Well, from what I've heard from our fearless leader, Dave Grohl, he has a lot of demos that he's worked on. And I think we'll start, once this [European] tour is over... I think not too soon after that, we'll start the process of putting the songs together as a band." He added: "It's a long process — we do a lot of demoing and stuff — but I think that we'll have — I'm hoping — I think we'll have a new record by next year. We should."

The band remains a touring behemoth, having played 71 shows between June 2017 and June 2018, with an average gross of more than $1 million per stop.

Selena Gomez has been busy at work in the studio and is set to release new music.

Selena Gomez has been laying low from the spotlight for some time now, but she’s getting ready to make a return to music. A source has told Entertainment Tonight that Gomez’s upcoming music will be “very personal.”

“Selena is in a really good place,” the source said. “She just celebrated her birthday in Italy and is really enjoying this time off before things ramp up again. Selena has been working on new music and plans to release some this year. The new music is going to be a different side of Selena and very personal. Selena has gone through a lot over the years and is ready to share it with the world.”

When asked last month during a premiere for her film 'The Dead Don’t Die' if she had been working on new music, she enthusiastically answered. “Yes!” she said, adding, “Yes! It’s finally done.” 📷:

Paul McCartney and Aerosmith have blockbuster performances in Las Vegas according to numbers.

McCartney’s sold-out stint June 28 and 29 at T-Mobile Arena, where his 38-song performance spanned nearly three hours each evening, brought in a whopping $7.2M with 29,822 tickets sold.

Also doing major business locally are rockers Aerosmith, whose residency at Park Theater at Park MGM has been a smash hit. On the strength of nine shows from June 19 to July 9, the band raked in $9.3M on ticket sales of 47,870, which is 99 percent of the total capacity for the concerts in question.
