Electronic dance music is truly amazing—it’s more than just music; it’s my lifeline, keeping me energized and inspired every day. I’m incredibly passionate about it and can’t imagine what life would be like without.

When I’m behind the decks, I’m not just playing music—I’m sharing a piece of my heart with the world. It’s a platform where I can connect with people, lift their spirits, and make a positive impact. This is what drives me and gives meaning to what I do.

After getting sober, I went back to TCU and earned my degree in criminal justice. Once I finished school, I moved back home and started taking music production and DJing seriously. I posted my “Miracle Maker” remix on SoundCloud as a joke and it turned out to be a surprise hit with the algorithm. Fast forward a couple months later, Diplo plays out my “Innerbloom” edit and eventually, I got booked to play at Time Night Club and Exchange LA.

It’s been an incredible journey! I’m so grateful for everything that’s happened and excited to keep growing as an artist 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Overcoming fear and self-doubt has been a transformative journey, particularly in the realm of social media. I’ve learned that embracing who I am and staying true to what brings me joy is crucial in navigating this journey. Despite the uncertainties that come with pursuing music production and DJing, these endeavors fill me with an undeniable sense of fulfillment and happiness.

Every time I step onto the decks, it’s not just about the music—it’s about expressing my passion and energy in a way that resonates deeply with me and hopefully with others too. This journey has taught me to let go of unnecessary worries and false scenarios that once held me back, allowing me to embrace myself fully and authentically.

For a long time, I struggled to fit in and lost myself in trying to be someone I wasn’t, even after getting sober. It was a journey marked by chasing a ‘cool’ image that left me deeply unhappy. This year, I’ve embraced my true colors as Johnny, celebrating my inner goofball and boundless energy. Learning to love myself without shame is not just a personal victory but also fuels my growth as an artist. Here’s to thriving authentically and embracing every aspect of who I am.

Rehab and sober living played a crucial role in my journey towards maintaining sobriety. I am deeply grateful for the support and resources that have contributed to my 4.5 years of sobriety. It’s what ultimately empowered me to pursue my passion for music wholeheartedly and express my true colors. There were moments in the past where I felt lost and scared, but I am thankful to have overcome those challenges and embraced a life filled with purpose and artistic exploration.

Reflecting back on the summer of 2018, I innocently started DJing for fun, unaware of the transformative journey it would ignite. Concurrently, my struggles with drinking and drugs escalated. Yet, that tumultuous time led me to a pivotal realization: sobriety was the key to pursuing DJing and music production wholeheartedly. Embracing my past, with all its emotional and mental challenges from 2018 and 2019, turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Grateful for the journey and the growth it brought! ❤️🤞🏻

In the early stages of my journey towards sobriety, I struggled with fully accepting myself for who I truly am. This internal conflict became especially challenging during my time in college, where I faced significant mental health obstacles. However, despite these difficulties, college also became a pivotal period that allowed me to reexamine and reconnect with my authentic self. This process of self-discovery, though not without its challenges, ultimately led me to a place of greater self-acceptance and inner peace.
