Las Cafeteras on KROQ Alternalido
Las Cafeteras' Hector Flores joined the show this week to share their new track "Cumbia de Mi Barrio." Calling in from the road after a show in rural Vermont, Flores shared some memories about the early days with Chicano Batman and La Santa Cecilia, and promised Las Cafeteras would come back to The World Famous KROQ for a proper interview with Alternalido's Canyon Cody when they get back home from tour, with a new album coming out in May, their first in 7 years.
Dayme Arocena recently stopped by the KROQ studios to talk with Alternalido's @elcanyonazo and share music from her new album 'Alkemi.' Produced by Eduardo Cabra (half of Calle 13, and the winning-est Latin Grammy artist of all time), it's Arocena first new album in 5 years, and features her first work in English. After talking about her childhood growing up in Cuba and studying music at the acamedy, just before she the studio, Dayme hinted at a upcoming free concert in LA this summer (!!!?) We'll keep you posted
