Chocolate Hazelnut Ice Cream
**Ingredients:**
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup hazelnut spread (such as Nutella)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped toasted hazelnuts
**Directions:**
1. In a large saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and cocoa powder. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is smooth and the sugar has dissolved.
2. Remove from heat and stir in the hazelnut spread and vanilla extract until well combined.
3. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate until completely cold, about 2 hours.
4. Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
5. When the ice cream is nearly finished churning and has a soft-serve consistency, add the chopped toasted hazelnuts, allowing them to mix thoroughly.
6. Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze until firm, about 4-6 hours.
7. Serve the chocolate hazelnut ice cream in bowls or cones, optionally drizzled with extra hazelnut spread or sprinkled with additional chopped hazelnuts.
