As our country marks 250 years, we are asking a bigger question: What will we build for the next 250 years, and who will have the power to build it?

⭐️ This year’s People, Power, Progress Awards invite us to imagine what comes next and celebrate the people and institutions already building toward that future. From protecting access to healthcare to ensuring our communities are seen and heard, our 2026 honorees, Memo Torres and MLK Community Healthcare, embody the courage and commitment this moment calls for.

Join us on Thursday, October 22 at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art for an evening of community, celebration, and collective power.

The Next 250 will not build itself. It will take all of us. 🖤🤎

Happy October! ✨ Yesterday, we kicked off election season at our monthly Backyard Thursday, gathering in community to honor our ancestors and loved ones who have passed, including those who fought to advance our voting rights. Together, we created a beautiful community altar to remember their lives, legacies, and sacrifices. 🤎🖤

Our votes are more than choices. They are acts of remembrance, responsibility, and continued struggle. We honor those who fought for our right to vote by using it. 📣

Backyard Thursday reminded us that community remains one of our greatest sources of strength. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the evening special. We’ll see you at the next Backyard Thursday on November 5th! 🥳

We’re back! Our monthly Backyard Thursdays is officially 2 weeks away!

Join us for an evening to connect, reflect, and learn how you can take collective action to support our community.

We’ll also be honoring our ancestors with a shared altar space - please consider bringing an offering such as a photo of a loved one who has passed, candles, flowers, or other meaningful items.

As always, Backyard Thursdays are family-friendly, so bring your friends, family, and neighbors. Come hang with us, meet new people, and enjoy an evening in community.

RSVP with the link in our bio. We’ll see you here!
