Today, on Giving Tuesday, your generosity can help power our work throughout the year and support critical programs for our youth and community.

This year, we organized and showed what’s possible:
• Protecting families from ICE
• Mobilizing voters
• Defending SENI funding
• Providing mutual aid after the fires

These wins are about US.

Every gift can make an impact. You can donate through the link in our bio or at CoCoSouthLA.org. Be sure to click on the donate now button.

We’re grateful for our continued partnership with and Toyota USA. Each year, we host an annual Turkey Giveaway and Holiday Dinner. Earlier this week, we distributed 175 turkeys and served over 120 residents a warm meal. The evening was filled with laughter, dancing, and joy as we came together in community.

Last night, we heard the powerful stories and demands of our youth and community members. As the Equity Alliance for LA’s Kids, we represent hundreds of students, families, and residents across the district who are directly impacted by the equity investments that we are addressing. We call upon the district to do right by high-need students, and not balance the budget on the backs of our community.

Our top priorities include:
- protecting the full $700M SENI investment, which includes using SENI as the central equity tool for district budget decisions

- strengthening and sustaining investments in equity-centered programs like BSAP

- supporting, affirming, protecting, and retaining diverse educators and staff

Ultimately, our demands center on providing meaningful opportunities and equitable environments for our students, educators, and staff to thrive. So let’s make it clear, a fight to protect SENI is a fight to protect us!

Boycott the corporations profiting from our pain and shift your dollars to the neighbors who reinvest in us! From November 27 to December 31, we’re shopping where we get respect — not at Target, Amazon, or Home Depot, but with local businesses that reflect who we are and what we stand for.

Use the link in our bio to sign the promise, and uplift a small business you love so others can find them on our Buy CA For CA guide to shopping alternatives.

California is the world’s 4th-largest economy because of us — the cooks, makers, artists, workers, and small business owners who keep our communities going.

Join Buy California for California and sign the promise today. LInk In Our Bio. We are California — and we’re standing on business.

Black and Brown veterans have served — and sacrificed — in every U.S. conflict. Our responsibility doesn’t end with “thank you for your service.” It begins by ensuring veterans have the resources they need to live and thrive — including healthcare, food assistance, and housing. We must show up for them and honor their service with real support because service deserves justice.

35 years strong. ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏼

CoCo has been the birthplace of strategic alliances and transformative campaigns that have won fights for public safety, quality education, criminal justice reform, housing and equity across Los Angeles.

This photo reel spans three and a half decades of joy, resistance, and community. Every image tells the story of our members, youth, and residents who have mobilized, organized, and reimagined what’s possible.

Here’s to many more years of resistance.

Rent is out of control... and it’s because LA’s rent control formula hasn’t been updated in 40 years.

The Los Angeles Rent Stabilization Ordinance (LARSO) is supposed to protect renters, but its outdated formula has allowed rents to skyrocket.

Demand the LA City Council % to keep families in their homes and protect working-class people.

COUNCIL votes Wednesday, Nov. 12! (8am-1pm) at City Hall.

📣 Pull up. Speak out. Tag your councilmember. Tell them to %!

‼️Today is Election Day! There’s still time to make your voice heard.

🌟This special election comes during a period of heightened fear and uncertainty across Los Angeles and the country, particularly among immigrant and Black communities experiencing increased surveillance, intimidation, and reduction of services.

🗳️ Let’s take action and cast our vote!

A couple of reminders:

➖ Voting centers close tonight at 8:00 PM.

➖ LA Metro will offer free rides today to get riders to the polls. Angelenos can use Metro buses, trains, bike share, or its micro-ride-share to get to the polls or drop off their ballots at their nearest vote center or ballot drop box.

Our ancestors fought, marched, organized, and dreamed of a world where we could have a voice.
Yesterday, we honor them not just with an altars but with action.

We walked to a neighborhood ballot box to cast our vote — as an offering of love, memory, and power. Because every vote we cast is a symbol of justice and a promise to the generations that follow.

Vote early, proudly, and fearlessly. Vote November 4th
