I already know how you all feel about this wall paneling 😂 personally I don’t love it BUT it’s not in the budget to change it. We are thinking of adding carpet runner to the stairs. The wood on the stairs looks jacked up like the previous owners may have ripped up carpet and slapped some stain on there. I’m guessing the best option long term is to sand and restain before putting any sort of carpet runner down? If that’s the case… I guess I’m finding the same ugly orange shade of stain? 😩 how do I bring it together with a more modern look???

Realizing this is more of a remodel/DIY project question rather than design and decor 🤔

B- two sidelites (can be painted any color)

Both are fiberglass. Choice A has a wood grain to it, Choice B is smooth.

Pergo SUCKS!! When I was diagonised with cancer we took all of our carpet out and had Pergo Outlast installed about 4 years ago. One thing we loved was its so called "lifetime warranty" its has since buckled and bubbled in several places. We Made a claim on the "Lifetime warranty" and they denied it. We had it professionally installed by Home depot. According to consumer affairs it gets a 1 star rating on them honoring the warranty ! We don't have the money to replace the whole house AGAIN! I have heard lots and lots of complaints about this same thing. I will never recommend or buy Pergo again!!!!!!

Which pendant? Cabinets are stained wood maple. Island will have black quartz top, perimeter will have white quartz. Overall design is modern farmhouse.

Need some advice! All of the cabinets in my home are vinyl wrapped (didn't even know that was a thing until they started peeling). I really want to paint them, but I don't know if I should have it peeled off and then paint the wood, or glue it back/repair and paint the vinyl.

Our home is 20 years old now, and they're all starting to peel. Second picture is the wood underneath.

Looking for input on stone slabs for our shower bench and threshold! Tile is honed Carrara marble - my initial thought was to find slabs of marble to match. But then I found this really beautiful soapstone and thought it might be a fun contrast. My concern is it looking too busy. We’re on a bit of a time crunch now, and the stone yard we’ve been working with doesn’t have a marble slab to match, so I’ll have to try to source one elsewhere. Or I can go the quickest route which is soapstone. I have decision fatigue and this point and am second guessing every choice I make. I’ve included photos of the ungrouted shower, the grouted floor so you can see what the shower WILL look like, and the soapstone in question.
