Happy St, Patricks Day!
Happy St. Patricks Day everyone! From us to you we give you "The Tipperary" hot to and history of the Irish cocktailSTay Safe out there everyone! Cheers and enjoy!
Happy St. Patricks Day! - The Tipperary
For St. Patrick’s Day I thought I’d bring you all something a bit different than your average green food coloring doused beer and Irish car bombs. The first time I had this cocktail I was at the iconic New York City bar, The Dead Rabbit Grocery and Grog. The bartender raved about it and made it with his favorite Irish Whiskey and since that moment it’s been a favorite of mine. So, in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, I bring you The Tipperary.
So, the history behind this one is pretty magical guys…
And it starts like every typical joke.
Guy walks into a bar…
And this guy is humming the song, ‘It’s a Long Road to Tipperary’,
which was an anthem for homesick Irish soliders…
So, in true bartender fashion he reads the room
and concocts a drink in honor of these Irishmen
with of course some whiskey…
and names it after the small county, Tipperary
in Ireland…
The Tipperary is packed with a boozy herbaceous punch and has a velvet texture. I highly recommend it for a good way to class up your otherwise sloshy St. Patrick’s Day festivities.
Method:
** Build in a mixing glass**
2 dashed aromatic bitters
1 oz Carpano Antica
½ oz Green Chartreuse
1.5 oz Irish Whiskey
** add ice and stir for 20-25 revolutions, julep strain into a coupe glass and garnish with expressed orange peel**
The Irish Mule
If you are a Whiskey fan and looking for a twist on the Moscow Mule try switching out the vodka for a softer Whiskey. Irish whiskey lends itself very well the the ginger profile in this cocktail and still packs a little bit of punch,
Method:
**build in a shaker tin**
½ oz Fresh Ginger Juice
¾ oz Simple Syrup
¾ oz Lime Juice
1.5 oz Irish Whiskey
** Ice and shake, pour all contents in copper mug, top with ginger beer, garnish with a lime wheel”

The Moscow Mule isn't from Russia!
The Moscow Mule:
Origin: Hollywood, Ca Est. 1941
Story: Most people would assume that the moscow mule was made in Russia unless of course they took a deep dive into what exactly made this cocktail so popular.
Without going into too many details, I’ll give you the cliffnotes.
Sophie Berezinski as a little girl would go to her father’s copper factory daily and came up with the idea of making a copper mug and designed it. The problem was nobody was buying them in Russia. As Sophie made her move to America for a better life her father packed almost 2K mugs with her on the boat over. In an attempt to get rid of that many mugs, she started going around door to door and ended up meeting John Martin who started a Smirnoff Vodka company. Which at the time nobody was drinking, they were drinking brown spirits.
She ended up meeting Jack Morgan who owned a bar called the Cock’n Bull Pub and loved to home brew ginger beer but nobody was drinking it because they loved ginger ale. So you have 3 people that have ginger beer nobody was drinking, vodka nobody was drinking and copper mugs nobody wanted. They came up with the perfect combination and the Moscow Mule was born. There has also been talks that the bartender of the Cock n Bull- Wes Price created the drink.
Why a copper mug?
Copper mugs are incredible thermal conductors. The mugs actually pulls heat right out of your body. It's basically make it so the cocktail is ALWAYS cold.
Method & Technique: Original Recipe
¾ oz Fresh Lime Juice
1.5- 2 oz Vodka
Ginger Beer to fill
*** Build all ingredients in copper mug over ice, garnish with a lime wheel
Crafttender Version:
½ oz Fresh Ginger Juice
½ oz Lime Juice
1.5 oz Vodka
Ginger Beer to fill
**Build all ingredients in a shaker and dry whip, pour over ice, top with Ginger Beer and garnish with a lime wheel and fresh mint sprig.**

Elevate Your Holidays with This Christmas Cocktail Recipe!
Ho Ho Holy Shizz! We are about to introduce a Christmas cocktail that bests the ultimate eggnog you can find anywhere!
If you are in the spirit of making a cocktail for the family or the masses alike, I encourage you to play to the one drink that's at your Christmas party every single year.
Although we overlook this drink, it has a rich profile and an ancestor in the cocktail world that is only defined by one culinary ingredient. So, lets channel our inner cocktail nerd and innovator at the same time!
The Bourbon Flip. A cocktail that has been steeped in rich history with the ingredient balance much like eggnog. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, Flips have been around since 1695. The first publication of the Flip was by Jerry Thomas in 1862 in How to Mix Drinks; or, The Bon-Vivant's Companion.
So what's the difference between the two? The Bourbon Flip calls for: sugar, a whole egg, spice and booze (of your choice). Eggnog, much like the Flip calls for the exact same ingredients (minus the booze if your lame) with the exception of cream.
On today’s episode we are marrying the two concepts and creating a spin on a classic and utilizing the classic recipe for Eggnog. The only difference is that we are making it by hand. On today’s episode we are bringing an elevated classic to the table… The Eggnog Flip
Eggnog Flip:
1oz Rich Simple Syrup
1 oz Heavy Whipping Cream
2 oz Bourbon ( of your choice)
Grated Nutmeg
Method:
*Build all ingredients in order in a shaker tin- dry shake for 30 seconds, add ice (1) large ice cube or (2) medium sized ice cubes and shake until the ice is fully diluted. Double strain and serve in a coupe, up with grated nutmeg as garnish*
Thanksgiving Cocktails! S'mores Old Fashioned and Spiked Apple Cider
Hello again my little Crafttenderites!
This is episode is dedicated to those of you looking to step up your thanksgiving cocktail game.
We have 2 cocktails you gotta try! I assure you that by the time you they these cocktails down and out, you won't have to worry about ignoring all the family members you originally planned to because they will be drunk enough to be bearable. Kidding of course!
All jokes aside, these 2 cocktails are inspired by the warm cozy feeling that the holidays give me and some interesting approaches to a few modern classics.
The first cocktail pays homage to the feeling of chilly weather and a sense of a changing season. I always made smores when I was a kid during the holidays with my family and friends. Now since I have aged a bit (don't ask), I’d prefer bourbon. So, I combined both and give you my riff on a S'mores Old Fashioned.
The second cocktail is pound for pound my favorite thing to drink during the holidays. It's a play on a spike warm Apple Cider. Anytime you give me an opportunity to use mulling spices and brandy I am GOING to do it. Its warm, its boozy and its all things Autumn!
Cheers! 🥂
