The Dialog

The Dialog The mission of The Dialog is to promote love through difficult conversations. It is a community where writers can connect by sharing their stories.

The Dialog's inception started with an idea and a conversation. The three Founders (Nikki Amick, Anthony DiMartino, and Elizabeth Salcedo) knew firsthand the power of narrative and relationships based in Love to heal and transform. We intend to create a safe space for the reader and writer to engage in a dialog on conversations that will further love and connections amongst our social circles. The

idea was inspired by all of you, the dreamers, the activists, the lovers, the doers, the supporters - your words, thoughts, feelings, and actions can bring about positive change in a world where the negative can feel like it is all around us. Change comes through listening, processing, discussing, relationships, and love. If you would like more information, have comments, or are interested in writing please visit us at our page The Dialog and/or email us at [email protected].

“Asking for help is not a sign of weakness. On the contrary, it can be one of the more courageous things you can do. It can also improve your relationships and free up time for you to focus on your most mission-critical tasks at work and at home. So don’t make the mistake of always trying to go it alone. Be smart enough to know when you need help and to ask for it effectively.”-Manfred F.R. Kets de Vries

“Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in a while, or the light won’t come in. If you challenge your own, you won’t be so quick to accept the unchallenged assumptions of others. You’ll be a lot less likely to be caught up in bias or prejudice or be influenced by people who ask you to hand over your brains, your soul or your money because they have everything all figured out for you.”-Anthony Alda

“If something inside of you is real, we will probably find it interesting, and it will probably be universal. So you must risk placing real emotion at the center of your work. Write straight into the emotional center of things. Write toward vulnerability. Risk being unliked. Tell the truth as you understand it. If you’re a writer you have a moral obligation to do this. And it is a revolutionary act — truth is always subversive.”―Anne Lamott
