I just removed an upstairs bedroom wall to allow more light in and create a rec room. Now I have a strip of drywall to repair on the ceiling. My initial thought is that since both edges used to be ceiling/wall corners, they are built up with compound and will leave a big hump if not cut back. Should I widen the gap? If so, how much? Lots of sunlight will be hitting this area so I want it to be flat as can be.

Today’s project- deep cleaning the 65 year old floor grout. It’s been bothering me since we moved in so today was the day to take care of it. Dawn dish soap, baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Scrub it on, let it sit for a few minutes, brush the tough spots and mop it up. White as the day it was put down!

Pet urine in subfloor, what should I do?
Hello! Me and my husband just bought our first house and it smells BAD. We pulled up the carpet and found out the urine made its way into the subfloor. At first we were going to BIN paint it, but I started getting worried it would only mask it for so long. I now want to pull out all the subfloor and replace it before we put in our new laminate. The problem is, we are buying the house from my husbands grandpa(he’s selling his rentals) and he says we just need to paint it. I don’t want to put in all new floors throughout the whole house only for it to smell like p*e in the end. Any help/advice would be great!

Electrician by trade and doing my own house at the moment… while doing the dull 2nd fix of some temporary sockets had the urge to photograph how a socket box should look after the mud slingers have been in! Did my own plastering so maybe why it’s been cleaned and kept so tidy!? Been told I’m weird that this has excited me
