Longview firefighters Wetdown push in ceremony.
Lonview firefighters held a wetdown push in ceremony for their new at engine station # 3 on Birdsiong.
According to Fire Chief JP Steelman. this firefighters’ ritual dates back to the 19th century when horses pulled the fire engine.
The firefighters washed down the new fire truck and firefighters and dry it with a white towel, then push it from the front into the firehouse.
This is a sort of blessing of the firengine for the safety and protection of the community.
