My daughter's first birthday started out perfectly… until my in-laws arrived.

First, James (my FIL) and Diane (his wife) showed up an hour late, interrupting my toast to my baby girl. They made a scene, blaming us for not waiting, even though everyone else was on time. Apparently, Diane was late because she "had to get her hair done—at least one woman should look decent at this party." I let it slide.

ENTITLED HOMEOWNERS REFUSED TO PAY MY PLUMBER DAD FOR HIS WORK – THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE THE SMARTEST, BUT HE HAD THE LAST LAUGH.

My dad's a plumber, and he's the kind of man who takes pride in his work like it's his own home. He's the type who'd redo an entire job if he thought it wasn't perfect.

So, he lands this gig for a complete bathroom remodel. We're talking the works – new tiles, new fixtures, the whole shebang. The homeowners were all smiles at first. They picked out every single detail – the tiles, the grout color, and even the position of the sink and toilet. Dad was there every step of the way, making sure everything was perfect.

Fast forward to the last day of the job. Dad's just finishing up the grouting when the homeowners suddenly flip the script. They start complaining about the tiles, saying it's not what they wanted. Total nonsense, because they literally picked everything out themselves. But here's the kicker – they tell him they're only paying HALF of what they owe him. HALF! My daughter, Sophie, had been talking non-stop about her new friend, Sandra, all week. Naturally, I was curious to meet this girl who had become such a big part of Sophie's life. So, I decided to call Sandra's mom to arrange a playdate.

We agreed to meet up at McDonald's. When Sandra and her mother, Wendy, walked in, my jaw nearly hit the floor.

ENTITLED WOMAN THREW FRESH JUICE AT ME – I’M NOT A DOORMAT, SO I TAUGHT HER A LESSON SHE WON’T FORGET

I worked at a chain health food store in the Chicago suburbs for about a year. The worst experience was at the juice bar.

One day, I apparently hadn’t used enough carrots for one woman’s liking, so she threw the entire drink in my face—like something out of an old Hollywood drama—and snarled, "TRY AGAIN!" I did not try again.

I sent my manager out to deal with her and was SHOCKED TO MY CORE when the manager was apologetic to HER and started making her another drink while I stood there, covered in juice and humiliated. The arrogant woman smirked at me like I was nothing.

NEIGHBORS HATED THE COLOR OF MY HOUSE AND REPAINTED IT WHILE I WAS AWAY — I WAS ENRAGED & TAUGHT THEM A LESSON ABOUT BOUNDARIES

My house is on a corner lot. Two years ago, a newlywed couple moved in next door and immediately made weird comments about my house's yellow color. Soon, they outright DEMANDED I paint it a different color. My house has always been yellow; I love it, and there's no rule against it.

They called the police and the city on me, but both told them to back off since I hadn't done anything wrong. They even tried suing me (the suit got tossed, and they had to pay my legal fees) and attempted to rally our neighbors to form an HOA to force me to repaint. Our neighbors told them to get lost, so now they're alienated by everyone.

I had to go out of town for two weeks, and when I got back, my house was GRAY. I almost drove past it because I'm so used to my yellow house.

The neighbor from across the street came over and showed me pictures he took of the painting company setting up and doing the work. He and another neighbor called the police, but the painting company had a valid work order and had been paid, so the police couldn't do anything.

IT SEEMED EVERYTHING DONE TO MY HOUSE WAS LEGAL AND NO DAMAGE WAS DONE! But there was no way I was letting my neighbors get away with what they did⬇️

I'M A SINGLE DAD OF TWO GIRLS – I WOKE UP TO PREPARE BREAKFAST FOR MY DAUGHTERS AND FOUND IT ALREADY COOKED.

I'm a single dad to two little girls, four and five years old. My wife left us to travel the world. Being a single dad is tough because, besides working, I have to cook, take them to daycare, and take care of them at home. They mean the world to me, but I'm often wiped out.

Recently, I woke up as usual, got my daughters dressed, and went to the kitchen to pour milk over their oatmeal. Imagine my surprise when I saw three plates of freshly made pancakes with jam and fruit waiting for us on the table. Worried, I checked the house for any uninvited guests and called my relatives to see if they had stopped by.

To my astonishment, I found no one at home, and all my relatives said they hadn't come over that morning. I tasted the pancakes before giving them to the kids, and they were fine. We had breakfast, and I took them to daycare. Puzzled, I hurried off to work.

I TOOK OUR OLD COUCH TO THE DUMP, BUT MY HUSBAND FREAKED OUT, YELLING, "YOU THREW AWAY THE PLAN?!"

I'd been asking my husband, Tom, for months to take our battered old couch to the dump. It was practically falling apart, but every time I brought it up, he'd say, "Tomorrow," or "Next weekend, I promise." Spoiler: "tomorrow" never came.

That Saturday, I'd finally had enough. I rented a truck, loaded that sagging, smelly couch by myself, and hauled it to the dump. I felt proud, even ordered a new couch to be delivered that afternoon.

When Tom got home and saw the new couch, he went pale. His first words weren't thanks, though. He looked at me, panicked. "You took the old couch to the dump?"

I nodded, confused. "Yes, Tom. You've been saying you'd do it for ages."
