A wise person once told me, “you’re never going to get the apology, so move on and stop talking about it.”How true are those words. No matter the anger or hate you have built up you’re probably not going to get the apology you think you deserve. The moment I stopped talking about it and started praying about it, I was able to let👏🏻it👏🏻go👏🏻. God doesn’t want your hate in your heart or dwelling words! He wants you to be able to actively move on and forgive those. Because after all, he does forgive you 💜

☀️☀️☀️☀️staar season is upon us. I will choose to bring sunshine. It’s the most stressful time in our building! I wouldn’t want to do this with anyone else! The people in our building may get stressed, overwhelmed, and down in themeselves, BUT they never give up! Our community is lucky to have our teachers💜💗

I’ve been talking a lot with a friend lately about education. I also talk to lots of new teachers about how their school year is going. The main thing I hear a lot is: I feel like I’m being judged by my coworkers. It took me a lot of years in this field to realize it’s ok to not be loved by everyone. Often times it is just in our heads and other times it’s flat out obvious 😂 You won’t always be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s ok. Not everyone will be your cup up tea. I’m writing this to let you know, it’s ok to be YOU! There are days (ok a lot of days) where I am EXTRA as all get out, loud and out going. There are also days (few days 😂) where that’s just not me. And that’s 👏ok👏. How boring would life be if we were all the same. So, don’t be that teacher that is talking, looking and judging another teacher how they act and do things. Our students would be banging their heads against the wall if we were all the same! You be YOU ♥️♥️ Our system could use More “I’ve got your back girls” more than ever! Happy Friday friends ♥️ 🍎

The main resources we use to help our students be successful!!! We believe in these programs/curriculum so much!!! We are not allowed to follow a textbook to teach from, so we make our own!!! Which we believe is best practice!! Read live is for fluency, phonics, and comprehension, but primarily used for fluency! Lexia is an awesome awesome phonics program! Progress learning, we could talk about for dayssssssss! It’s intervention and targeted skill is unmatched!!! DMAC is where it’s at if you live in TEXAS! DMAC alone covers soooooo much ground and is staar driven as well, as well as DATA!! And of course all of our small group, which is skill based comes from our TPT which is staar aligned as well!!! Yalllll….is it just Texas that’s insane?!?! I’ve wanted to cry this week. Our kids are doing AMAZING and it has nothing to do with their performance level. My heart just hurts. It hurts so much this is the way school has to be for a short bit. Next week will be better because I’m bringing fun to school. I’ve been in a down mood but I’m making myself love it again…TEA can just get over it. Fun starts Monday. That being said we are spiraling back to drama vocabulary. Anyone have any fun games? Teaching is not for the faint at heart. There are some days you just want to go home and cry. And not cry just bc it’s hard. You cry because you know some of your kids go home to nothing. No food or love. You cry bc your work family is so over worked and underpaid you are afraid of what’s to come with the education system. And then yes, you go home and cry at times bc kids were just kids and lost their minds just for a bit. So I say all this to say, go home to your people who make it all better and remind you that your job doesn’t define you!
