"Motivational Mondays"
From the publisher:
Starting a business, ending a habit, breaking barriers, opening or closing a door, while each can spur excitement, none are easy tasks. There have been times throughout my own journey that I’ve wanted to give up. The successful scaling of my business wasn’t moving fast enough to fuel my mission, and my motivation had dropped down right alongside my bottom line. It wasn’t until I decided to stop measuring my success by losses and gains and refrain from forcing growth and action into high speed, that my anxiety stepped aside and my passion and resilience won over, strengthening me onward and upward at just the right, even pace. Understand that the key to building, to overcoming, to moving forward, and to conquering, is to keep going no matter how long it may feel like it’s taking to lay the foundation. Never give up, and you will arrive, not only where, but, when you’re meant to.
Sincerely,
Amanda Compton-Ortiz

Seaside Social News sends off its very first student intern, Lindsey Magee, who graduates this year as Summa Cum Laude and earns this year’s Excellence in IMC Award from the University of Mississippi School of Journalism and New Media. Congratulations, Lindsey, for a job well done!
“As a summer intern at Seaside Social News, I’ve had a phenomenal experience that has opened my eyes to the world of not only journalism and reporting, but public relations as well. Aside from the honor of working for and getting to know the founder, Mrs. Amanda, I have thoroughly enjoyed such an opportunity this summer. From making connections with the friendly people of the Mississippi Gulf Coast to honing my writing skills, I think my favorite aspect of the work was event coverage. More specifically, I loved attending the assigned events and just talking to people, having the chance to hear their story and portray it in a way that makes them proud. However, I don’t even know if I could call this ‘work,’ because I enjoyed it that much! I’ve learned how to properly interview people, pay attention to detail in reporting information accurately, and the importance of getting the facts right for the sake of honest journalism. The short time I had to be involved in this publication has impacted me in several ways, but I know that I will use what I’ve learned this year at school. I feel stronger as a writer, more qualified as a reporter, and eager to grow as a journalist in the future.”
Thank you, Lindsey, and best wishes for your journey! The University of Mississippi - Ole Miss

Seaside Social News will take a fun, soft and delightful approach to delivering positive news and information to our readers.
In each online edition, we'll profile interesting people and places in our communities. We'll talk with musicians, entrepreneurs, city and county leaders, administrators, teachers, students and others. We'll spotlight local businesses and organizations. We'll also take tons of photographs of folks attending area parties and special meetings and functions to help illustrate the best of who and what makes our beloved towns and cities special with pictures featuring our neighbors, friends, co-workers, and who knows, maybe even you.
We'll also publish wedding and anniversary announcements. It truly makes the occasion memorable.
Sometimes in the world of reporting and publishing, we get bogged down in the drudgery of the everyday news, but Seaside Social News will allow us the opportunity to explore the fun and colorful side of the area.
And there is no limit to the boundaries of exploration in Seaside Social News as we aim to reach coastal Mississippians of all ages and backgrounds.
If you are having a party or special event, give us a call. If you know a cool and/or interesting person, business, organization or effort our community should know about, drop us a line.
Our first edition is expected to debut this year. It will be a sampling of what you can expect in the future. Plenty of photos of people enjoying themselves at parties, a profile of Mississippi Press Association Hall of Famer Randy Ponder, a resident of Bay St. Louis, and more.
Send an email to [email protected] to schedule a party/event shoot. We'll see you there!
