Our Story
PURE REDFORD - READ AROUND THE WORLD From Thailand, Great Britan, Switzerland, France, Columbia, to Several of the States in the USA.
The Redford Connection -- a.k.a. The Redford Neighborhood Connection -- is a privately-owned monthly newspaper, distributed at the beginning of each month of the year. The Redford Connection Newspaper is a separate and distinct entity from the Charter Township of Redford. The paper serves the Townshp and is committed to providing community communications with the intent to serve, unite, inform, and provide information with integrity to the People and Heroes of the Township to make it an even better place to Live, Work, Worship, Play, and even Shop in the Township Distribution consists of home delivery to 21,000 copies covering the entire area geographically known as Redford Township, and several locations around town where it is available for immediate pickup such as local restaurants, cafes, etc. News coverage is locally-focused, and the target audience includes all Redford Township residents, including senior citizens and young people. The Redford Connection plans on continually upgrading and improving in style and content, and aims to deliver a product which keeps Redford citizens informed, edifies its youth, and makes all residents proud to live in Redford Township. The newspaper was founded in 1996 by Bill Bushart, an entrepreneur come stand-up comedian. As a free paper, the Redford Connection has always been wholly supported by advertising revenue, and has a monthly readership of over 23,000. The owner, publisher, and editor-in-chief is Charles A. Haas, a local attorney and businessman, who has been involved in Redford Township since relocating to the township in 1955. Haas is assisted by a small staff which includes his legal assistant, Michaelangelo. There are also volunteer writers, including Geri Lillis (former owner and publisher) and Jim Bailey.
