Ronald Marsh Smith has a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Studies from Austin Peay State University, Clarksville, Tennessee. He is retired from Federal Government Service where he served more than fifteen years. Mr. Smith is a motivational speaker and when invited, works with students at Cross High School JROTC, Cross, SC. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, and a retired US Army, Master Sergeant, Mr. Smith and his wife Betty have been married for more than 35 years. He is the loving father to three sons Ronald Jr., Raymond Sr., and Ryan.

The world had me convinced
that I had to do everything
be everything
push through
be strong
keep going
be SUPERWOMAN
and I was
but being SUPERWOMAN came with consequences
ones I tried to ignore (exhaustion and pain)
until I couldn't
I fell
but I got back up realizing my success
is not determined
by how STRONG I am but whose I am
turns out the S on my chest wasn't about MY strength
but my spirit (lineage and light)
my legacy doesn't require me to be strong (or fight)
In fact it is when I'm weak that I'm covered the most
so when you see me pressing on
just know it's not by MY might
because the 'S' on my chest represents my Savior
NOT my self

empty

for the Creator's sake

and know that what feels good
