📣✨ Welcome to the New Elementary School Principal, Mr. Ryan Koenigs! ✨📣

✏️We're thrilled to introduce Mr. Koenigs, our new Elementary school principal, whose journey in a career in education began in high school as a teacher's aide in a 4th-grade classroom. After 11 years of teaching and coaching, he pursued a master's degree with the initial goal of becoming an athletic director. However, he found his true calling as a principal, where his passion for developing relationships and fostering a strong school community shines.

✏️As Mr. Koenigs steps into his new role, he is committed to regular and transparent communication, ensuring everyone in our community stays informed and connected. Building strong relationships with students, staff, and the wider community is a top priority, alongside continuing to implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).

✏️Mr. Koenigs brings a wealth of experience in relationship-building and creative problem-solving. He believes in celebrating every student's successes, big or small, and fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued. As principal at his old school, his staff meetings always started with highlighting the great things staff members do, a tradition he’d like to carry into his role at Staples-Motley Elementary.

✏️In his free time, Mr. Koenigs enjoys deer and pheasant hunting, golfing, reading, and spending quality time with his family which includes his wife and three kids, ages 1, 5 and 6. A fun fact about him? He once won an open mic stand-up comedy night in St. Cloud! He’s also a big fan of the Percy Jackson book series and the movie Independence Day.

✏️Having been a Cardinal in Annandale High School, Mr. Koenigs is excited to be a Cardinal again and looks forward to embarking on this new journey with our community. Let's give him a warm welcome! 🏫❤️
