Our own Sydney Jordan was honored to meet Bethany Hamilton, professional surfer, at Central High School of Clay County inservice institute for educators, during which breakfast was provided by AEA. Bethany's life story was the inspiration behind the movie, Soul Surfer.

In addition, we have also been notified by APA that we have won one or more first place awards to be accepted at the Annual Alabama Press Summer Convention at the end of this month.

Today Sydney Jordan, a senior from Central High School, job-shadowed today at The Clay Times-Journal through her FBLA program. Sydney has interest in marketing and journalism, and gained hands-on experience today with the process of building a newspaper. Sydney is a very polite and helpful young lady, and we are sure she has a bright future!
