We are sorry to announce that we cannot publish the full 2013 Nebraska Poets Calendar this year. Time and finances have conspired to make it unfeasible.

This will be the LAST Transit of Venus visible from Earth until December of 2117.

Laura Madeline Wiseman (the July 2012 NPC poet) had some videos taken of her reading at the Dec. 11, 2011 Noyes Art Gallery readings. Nice!

I read Sunday afternoon at the great space of Noyes Gallery, the reading and art show for Black Star Press’s 2012 Nebraska Poets Calender. First the clip of my little poem “Ten-Speed” that I wrote about my hand-me-down orange huffy olympia bicycle that I biked on all through high school and college.

The date for the Gere Book talk is NOT Dec. 11. It IS DECEMBER 12.

Likewise, the reading at the Crescent Moon is NOT Dec. 11. It IS DECEMBER 19.

2012-12-07: Nebraska Poets Calendar Editor to Give Book Talk
Monday, December 11, 2:30-4 p.m., Sarah Fairchild, Editor of Black Star Press, publisher of the Nebraska Poets calendar will give a book talk at Gere Library, 2400 South 56th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. The event is free and open to the public. The book talk will eventually be podcast by Lincoln City Libraries.

2012-12-07: Poets to read from 2012 Nebraska Poets Calendar at Crescent Moon
On Monday, December 11, poets whose work was selected for the 2012 Nebraska Poets Calendar will read their calendar poems and other work for the Poetry at the Moon reading series at Crescent Moon Coffee, 140 N. 8th St #10 Lower Level, Lincoln, Nebraska. The event begins at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

2012-12-07: Nebraska Poets Calendar Poetry Reading/Art Show.

On Sunday, December 11, there will be a reading/art show at Noyes Gallery, 119 South 9th Street Lincoln to celebrate the publication of the 2012 Nebraska Poets Calendar. This event is part of an art opening coordinated by Janna Harsch, a member of the gallery. Poets and artists whose work appears in the calendar will present their works.

Schedule:
1-4 p.m. Art Opening.
2:00 p.m. Reading by calendar poets of the poems chosen for the calendar presentation of the original artwork chosen to appear with the poetry.
3:00 p.m. Reading by the calendar poets of other original work.

The event is free and open to the public.

The 2012 Nebraska Poets Calendar is back from the printer.
We have received the calendars from the printer.

So far we have 2012 calendars to:
* "A" Street Market
* A Novel Idea Bookstore
* Crescent Moon Coffee
* Mo Java Cafe & Roasting Co.
* Noyes Art Gallery

We are still busily making labels, distributing contributor's copies, and filling prepaid orders and finding other retail stores to carry the calendar.

The 2012 Nebraska Poets Calendar is now at the printer. We anticipate it we be delivered around November 28, but timing might be impacted by Thanksgiving holidays.

Sarah will be on Friday Live with William Stibor (NET Radio) tomorrow morning April 1, 2011 around 9 a.m. (CDT).

Matt Mason and Mary K. Stillwell will read their poems from the 2011 calendar.

We want to remind poets of the approaching April 30th deadline for the 2012 Nebraska Poets Calendar. We hope this will reach poets and artists from all parts of greater Nebraska, as well as Lincoln and Omaha.
