Here’s Why...

Hey what’s up! My name is Nathan Jenkins and I like to make videos! It all started years ago when I was about 16 years old and began to compete in snowboarding. I realized that if I wanted videos of my snowboarding, I needed to film and edit them. The journey began there as I became acquainted with the basics of video editing. As I grew older and got more involved in ministry, I slowly began to adapt my abilities as a video editor to share stories and communicate through video media. It slowly progressed over the next 5 years as I continued making videos to communicate what our church was about and to showcase various events that we put on. I began to see more and more the power of people’s stories and how they can captivate and audience! Once the Covid-19 Pandemic hit in early 2020, our church began thinking of ways to serve our community within the guidelines of the local government. We decided to put on a drive-through pizza event called “Pizza for the People”. I threw together a quick little promotional video, and before we knew it, the event had taken off. The video alone had over 2,500 views and we ended up selling out of pizza’s faster than we could have ever imagined. We raised over $4,000 for a local non-profit that night. A few weeks later we decided to host another “Pizza for the People” to raise money for the 2020 Senior Class of the local high school, in which I made another short promotional video. Another 2,000 views and over $4,000 was raised. Finally, the local ski resort, Loon Mountain, wanted to join in on the fundraising as they hosted the third event. The video made to promote the Loon Mountain “Pizza for the People” had over 3,000 views and was another huge fundraising success as they totaled around $3,000. I’m so grateful to have played a part in that fundraising and I am looking forward to promoting what your story is!
