The XOL is a juvenile (ages 6-17)league developed for the sport of Ninja. The sport of Ninja is all activities related to training and the development of skills in the disciplines of free running, gymnastics, rock climbing and martial arts based tricking with the purpose of navigating as quickly, efficiently and effectively through obstacles as possible. Various Ninja gyms throughout the country

will create XOL teams with the purpose of building a specific skill set unique to any other sport in a team environment. The extreme obstacles are set to challenge the abilities of the athlete in their particular age group and level which will be determined by the participating ninja gym. The obstacles will be a combination of strength, endurance, coordination, agility and balance. The skill set will also be a combination of Obstacle Course Racing in addition to the popular NBC television show American Ninja Warrior. Our premier season followed the Ninja Battle Atlanta which featured some of the top Stars on ANW. Ninja Battle Atlanta was for adults and kids whereas, the XOL is just for kids. Then the new and separate winter season in house winners will move on to state and National finals. Age categories:

6-8 Youth

9-12 Pre-Teen

Teens

All league play will initially take place at the XOL Headquarters, NinjaKour, 4153 Lawrenceville hwy, ste 13 behind the Beaver Ruin complex past the Kroger loading dock. Teams will have 3- 5 athletes and the course will be set for each team meet. The course for the meet will be determined by the XOL facility and course rules for that meet. Regular season meets will have two stages. All 5 competitors must compete in at least one stage. At least two team members have to compete in each stage. If a team cannot field at least a two member team then that team must forfeit. During the regular season of only one team member shows they will be allowed to run the course solely. Win or lose they will be afforded one opportunity during the season to do this without forfeiture. This prevents a team from strategizing to have their top Ninja run the entire course to have a winning season. The winning team will be determined by the total fastest time of the two stages with the most obstacle clears. Clears are always weighted more heavily over time. In other words a team with a slower total time and the most clears wins. Each gym will determine the rules of the course on the day of the meet as far as clears and how to complete an obstacle during the course walk through prior to the meet. The winners of the stage runs will be the team who collectively cleared the most obstacles. If there is a tie on obstacle clears then the stage winner will be determined by the fastest time. At the beginning of each season the gym owner and coaches will have a seeding meeting to ensure that a beginner ninja, an intermediate ninja, and an advanced ninja are placed on each team. This will balance the teams for how the courses are set with a beginner station, an intermediate station and an advance station for each course. Each meet will have two officials trained by the XOL that can either be employees of the host gym or officials from another ninja gym. Each ninja gym owner will be required to review the XOL bylaws and sign up their gym on the League sign up. This will allow the gym and their athlete’s eligibility to have their athletes compete. Once we have selected the teams we have a Friday night parent meeting and pizza party one week out from the beginning of the season. During this meeting, we go over the rules of the XOL for the season, allow the parents to walk around and observe the obstacles and learn some basic technique so they will be able to volunteer and help out with coaching particularly the young kids in the 6 to 8 year old division and the 9 to 12 year division. Generally the teenagers are on their own. They figure out who is good at what types of obstacles so they can formulate their strategies for each meet. They usually do not require nor do they want help from parents. Xtreme Obstacle League - Gym Owners

Our Story

The XOL is a juvenile (ages 6-17) league developed for the sport of Ninja. The sport of Ninja is all activities related to training and the development of skills in the disciplines of free running, gymnastics, rock climbing and martial arts based tricking with the purpose of navigating as quickly, efficiently and effectively through obstacles as possible. Various Ninja gyms throughout the country will create XOL teams with the purpose of building a specific skill set unique to any other sport in a team environment. There are two seasons per year. a fall season which is “in house” and a winter season which leads to state and National Finals.

The most common question asked: Is this for my child? The answer is yes! In some sports the best kids play where others sit on the bench and watch. Sometimes getting to “go in” if your team is winning by an astronomical margin. This is exactly opposite of how the XOL functions.

Teams are picked with at least one beginner level, one intermediate level and on advanced level ninja in each age division. The obstacle station format is also designed the same way where on station is beginner, one intermediate and one advanced.

This structure results in the possibility of your beginner ninja crushing their obstacles and their teammates may not have performed as well on their station. In most other sports the beginner does not fair well. In this scenario the beginner level ninja becomes the hero of that meet pulling their weight. Lol, sometimes literally.
