Wet Snow Continues To Fall On Summit Street In Lexington
Wet snow continues to fall on Summit Street in Lexington as the region's latest storm moves into the afternoon. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the Rockbridge area by the National Weather Service. So far, Lexington has seen between 1 and 2 inches of accumulation, and roads seem to be staying clear. But those conditions may change over the course of this evening. Snow falls on Lexington downtown streets Jan. 16
At about 10:45 a.m. Sunday, snow was already beginning to stick to roads in downtown Lexington.
The Virginia Department of Transportation said in a press release Saturday afternoon that "all travel should be avoided or delayed in the area during the storm."
The press release said that VDOT crews pretreated roads on Jan. 14, and crews are standing by this morning "to begin plowing and treating roads as the weather begins."

Enderly heights caroling
Enderly Heights students sang Christmas songs for their families in a drive-by event this afternoon.
The first Glasgow community caroling event Sunday afternoon drew dozens of area residents, along with Santa, Mrs. Claus, elves and a dancing tree. The event was co-sponsored by the WRE and the Glasgow Garden Club. Here is a tune that the children joined in singing.
