Pullman Road Closures: Flooding Shuts Down Portions of North Grand Avenue and Fairmount Drive

PULLMAN, WA – Heavy rainfall has led to flooding in parts of Pullman, prompting road closures and safety warnings from local authorities. Portions of North Grand Avenue and Fairmount Drive are currently closed due to water over the roadways, according to the City of Pullman Police Department.

Officials warn that additional closures may be necessary as they continue evaluating flood-prone areas throughout town. Drivers are urged to travel with caution and avoid driving through standing water, as it can be deceptively deep and hazardous. Even a small amount of water can cause vehicles to lose control or become stranded.

Residents who encounter flooded roadways or other hazardous conditions are encouraged to report them by calling non-emergency dispatch at (509) 332-2521.

The Pullman Police Department continues to monitor conditions and will provide updates as necessary. Residents should stay informed by checking local news, city alerts, and official public safety announcements.

As a reminder, turn around, don’t drown—never attempt to drive through flooded areas. Stay safe and take precautions while traveling.

Flooding Forces Full Closure of State Route 27 Near Fairfield

SPOKANE, WA — Heavy flooding has forced the full closure of State Route 27 near milepost 64, just north of Fairfield, as a large amount of water is running over the roadway.

The Washington State Patrol (WSP) responded to the incident at 7:36 AM on February 23, 2025, with Trooper E. Gerrer closing the highway due to unsafe conditions. The Department of Transportation (DOT) is en route to assess the situation and determine next steps.

At this time, it is uncertain when the roadway will reopen, and no official detour has been announced. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

Authorities are monitoring the situation closely and will provide updates as conditions change. Travelers should check local traffic reports and WSDOT updates for the latest information before heading out.

For your safety, never attempt to drive through flooded roadways, as moving water can quickly become dangerous. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing situation.
