When you look at the daily map of the Gwen Fire, you might be wondering how and why the fire is broken up into divisions. Right now, the Gwen Fire is broken up into six divisions (starting west and moving clockwise around the fire’s perimeter): Div A, Div C, Div F, Div Z, Div N, and Div R. To find the division breaks, look for the “)(“ around the map. Today’s update will dive into the operations in each division.

Divisions are a way to geographically divide or break-up an incident into more manageable bites. This helps create smaller sections of the fire, so fire managers have real-time situational awareness in geographically targeted areas. It also allows our field management personnel and supervisors to become very intentional and familiar in their specific designated area of responsibility and ultimately more effectively manage their crews.

Police in Lewiston are seeking to locate a missing adult male. Wesley Patterson, 69 years old, went to take his dog for a walk on 1-16-2023 and hasn't returned. He usually takes his dog to remote areas like McCormick Ridge in Idaho or Wawawai area in Washington. He was driving a 2011 red Toyota Tacoma with Idaho plates N214096.
