Join us July 5, 6, and 7 for our Independence Weekend Adoption Special! In celebration of our country’s 248th birthday, all adoption fees will be just $2.48 for these three days only. Plus, all adopters will receive a 50% discount on all purchases in our retail store. 🐾

Shelters across the nation are overcrowded in record numbers, and we are no different. Help us make a difference and give these wonderful animals a loving forever home.

We at Silvercrest love animals. From our domesticated furry pals to helping preserve the beauty of our natural deserts. Our founder Billy Rodriguez got to name a yellow-footed rock wallaby! With only 18 in the world it was imperative that our team help step in where we can! So cheers to “William the Wallaby!”

Johnny Cash once sang about a "Boy named Sue” but at The Living Desert, we're singing about “A Wallaby named William”!

Formerly known as the , William, aka Billy, is a female yellow-footed rock wallaby. She was named after a friend and supporter of the Zoo, William Rodriguez, owner and CEO of Silvercrest Advertising in Palm Springs.

Did you know? There are only 18 yellow-footed rock wallabies residing in the US and we are honored to care for 9 of them!
