Ava saw a YouTube video about using a pop-it toy to make treats in she wanted to try-so I indulged her! She also wanted to try making it into a reel, so although I’m super late to joining the , we gave it a try!

In my book, love is love, and LOVE WINS. 🙌🏼💫🏳️‍🌈
With so much hate & prejudice already in our world, why on Earth do we need to get our feathers ruffled about people wanting to love each other?!
For those who are less than accepting of people in the LGBTQ community based on their religious preferences, it always makes ask these questions:
1. When did the Bible, Jesus, or God ever encourage one to hate another? Not only that, isn’t it encouraged to strive even harder to love those you are opposed to?
2. Have you ever had a person in the LGBTQ community challenge or disrespect your choices?
3. What position are you in to judge ANYONE’S life but your own?!
I can’t imagine feeling your own family, and community didn’t accept you for however you are.
I can indirectly relate (in a very different context) from having myself & my kids experience less than ideal situations for things we can’t help or change.....
No one should be treated any less for things they can’t change, and did not choose!( )
For all those out there who need a safe space, person to talk/vent to, or even have as a mom figure if your own doesn’t accept you- I AM HERE IF YOU NEED ME! 💜
Love more, hate less, and the world can improve.
Until that happens, I am proud to be a friend, ally, and advocate for acceptance of everyone. Equality should not be a privilege-its a basic human right everyone should be freely entitled to!

How about the challenges of homeschool? How about BOTH?!
Nope. Try BOTH, with having home 24/7, while your all quarantined-and for a freakin’ pandemic!!! 😳 ?
This year has been a challenge no matter how you did school, or anything else....
It’s not a race, and it’s not a competition, and it’s been tough for everyone! 🤷🏼‍♀️
Check on your friends, relax when you can, and just DO YOUR BEST!
Doesn’t change your circumstances-but any time you can realize -you’re not only 💯% right, but you’ve put your situation in a better perspective, AND will have practiced to boot!

I say we help each other, don’t judge, & try to relate to each other!
You’ll save yourself stress if you just keep your mind in your own lane, regardless of what others may *seem* to be doing!
*if you’re seeing it on Social Media, it’s going to be more towards ideal, and less towards real*
Most people don’t share their struggles, and why things can seem better for others when we start to compare.
If you do catch yourself comparing-try doing it in THE OTHER DIRECTION! ↩️
Think of someone who has it worse, and you’ll feel better every time!

Ryan has a major aversion to Rob wearing a robe when we have to get up with him in the middle of the night.....
I’m not quite sure when/why it started, but it’s an almost comical mixture of hate/annoyance/apprehensiveness and we have no idea why 🤷🏼‍♀️😂
I have been intentionally taking a break from Instagram for the month of April.
While I’m all for advocating for Autism, it’s just a source of irritating triggers for me, and over the years I’ve just found it’s the best approach for me personally.
Nothing like hearing someone (incorrectly) speak about something you LIVE daily.....
Between that, the ignorance, and the misguided assumptions, I don’t need or want the extra stress! (I have homeschooling already for that! 😐)
I feel differently about it different years, and none of those feelings are wrong, nor do they negate me having any obligation to explain or apologize about the way I feel.
That is absolutely my right- as it is every one-to to what works best for them and follow their own opinion.
This is my attempt to break up all the negative seen during April, and add some positivity & humor instead.
* for anyone who is about to say I’m laughing ‘at’ my child/his struggles, it’s not meant to be taken in that context. It’s not what this is about, and there’s no need to go there or make this post something it’s not!*
Sometimes laughing is all you can do!!🤷🏼‍♀️

♾For those who are wanting to help raise awareness, understanding, and inclusion for - PLEASE consider another way to show your support other than supporting or lighting it up blue!!
I appreciate anyone who is putting effort into advocating for people with Autism, but many don’t know Autism Speaks isn’t supported by many people who are
They’re approach is finding a ‘cure’, as well as working on creating a prenatal diagnostic test to give parents the possibility of knowing if their unborn child will have Autism.
I will not sugar coat the difficulties of raising a child with Autism to any extent-let alone 3. I also would love for my kids to not have to endure the struggles & hardships that come with Autism. It breaks my heart to watch them deal with things I can’t change or help with more.
But to completely eradicate Autism would also be a very bad and unfortunate thing! Autistic brains are beyond amazing, intelligent, and creative. Many high functioning individuals are proud of being on the spectrum, and the differences it brings into their lives that is miles away from the mainstream & mundane.
They are people who are smart, passionate, intelligent, unique, creative, and empathetic.
If you have any questions about Autism, being an , or what it’s like having any (Autism Spectrum Disorder) is m happy to help. Many don’t know I am also on the spectrum (Aspergers) and may have never known if not for my kids own diagnoses.
If you have a child who was just diagnosis we’d, or you feel you need to have evaluated-I can help answer those questions too. I will say how crucial and life changing early intervention & ABA therapy can be! No one wants to go hear their child has Autism, but it’s worse to hear their life care you’d be improved if they’d have gotten a diagnosis and services even earlier!
I never like to knock a good intent, abs whatever color or symbol you choose to supper is absolutely your choice.
IMO the ♾ symbol (neurodiversity) is the most inclusive as it covers ANY condition not considered , and includes everyone living under that umbrella.

My face (and claws) when someone stares at Ryan and breaks my ‘3-second rule’ ..... 🤨
When you have a child with , especially one that constantly does LOUD vocal stims-you get stares. Lots of stares, and some are appalling considering they’re aimed at a child with a disability. 🤬
It sucks, but it’s a part of being an (Special/Extra Needs)
I completely understand the natural reaction part to not being able to help but look when you hear loud & random noise.
But that’s when my ‘staring clock’ starts ticking...... ⏰
But if you’re STILL STARING after 3 full seconds-and you’re age is above double digits-you’re probably not going to like me, and I’m WAY OK with that! 😎
Even if means you’re feeling awkward for an entire 90 minute train ride, in the very next seat.
Some people will take that as me ruining someone’s time by being rude. but how kind or acceptable is it to glare at a child for ANY reason?
I’m nice until the situation calls for other behavior, and anything less than nice of me only happens when initiated by someone else.
I wish people would understand these sweet kiddos can’t help it, and there’s not much we can do without making their lives even more difficult.
I will always start with a smile, but won’t hesitate to put you in your place if you cross that line...
You get what you give-and if you give my kid a hard time for something he can’t help-you’re going to find this owl cute & cuddly compared to me. I’m also WAY OK with that too.
Call it rude-I call it ‘you asked for it when you stated at my kid’ and nothing rude about matching someone’s behavior.
You never really know someone’s situation by what may seem obvious. Be nice, and if you have to look-a smile goes a long way! 😊

We don’t personally deal with but I often find people mistake & confuse it with Autism. There are facial characteristics that accompany the condition, and I think I this is where the dreaded ‘He doesn’t look Autistic’ phrase comes from.
It’s ok to be mistaken and not know everything-no one does. But it’s never ok to be rude!

Hi 👋🏼I’m Amy 🙋🏼‍♀️ I’m a mom to 3 kids on the Autism Spectrum, just a tad obsessed with my 4th child and beagle baby 🐶🐾
I’m a sucker for kids, animals, or pretty much any person or creature in need!
Before we started living , I was much more present on IG, as was my effort to help and support others living with Autism.
I’ve always enjoyed helping people and still do....
I have an ‘intense’ personality, and am an ‘all-or-nothing’ type person.
I strive to be kind & generous -but also have another side few have seen- if you push the ‘wrong’ button.
I L❤️VE volunteering at school, and not having those sweet school kids as my daily necessary cup-filler has been really tough for me!
I am still here as able, and at the least I can always guarantee I can give the help of being able to relate to others living with Autism when there’s not more I can do to help.
If you’ve experienced that-I don’t have to explain how helpful just having someone that gets it can be!
Just wanted to update/check-in/touch base to everyone asking where I am, if I’m still providing Autism support-or just what’s up in general.
My kids and homeschooling are my top priority and that’s usually enough to keep me hopping 24/7.
But-I will ALWAYS still help whoever, wherever, whenever, and however I can!
*FYI to answer some recent ?’s About my ‘side hustle’: My affiliate is not for me to make $$$! It’s actually my way to as I DONATE all commission towards those living with Autism. (Check out my COS highlight for more info)

Still can’t believe this kid is 16!
I love what a unique personality he has, and although he’s a typical teenager in many ways, I love how it’s never even a thought for him to be anything but 100% himself. I love that he has unique interests for his age, and how whole heartedly he does whatever he’s interested in. This kid has moved mountains in his short life already, and I have no doubt he survived the events of his birth to move even more. Look out world-future pilot in the making!! 👨‍✈️

This year has been rough for LOTS!
I can’t help but feel like all these people now complaining about getting a TEMPORARY (and smaller!) taste of what most LIVE isn’t exactly helping....
I DON’T expect others to not find it hard.
But what I HOPE to see is these people being able to RELATE to us more when they go back to ‘normal’, and we’re still living the isolated ground hog life many of us are all too familiar with.
When/if this is finally one day back to normal-try to remember those who have THIS as their ‘norm’-and remember things will still be quite the same for us!!

This always makes me happy to see. Ava was born early and scored herself a 2 week NICU stint. I will never forget and I having to watch her be life-flighted, because they didn’t dare risk a 20 minute ambulance ride from Riverton Hospital, to Intermountain where they had a NICU unit.
It was a living hell not being able to leave for 3-4 days knowing my newborn was not with me. 😔Redulyed in me having 1 nurse banned from my room because ticked me off and I was already just slightly stressed! When your baby is in a ventilator you don’t care how cute the sign the made for her is 🤷🏼‍♀️ Call me crazy-but seemed just a bit insensitive-not to mention totally irrelevant for a life in danger! 🤬
I felt like my tiny baby was fighting for her life-all alone- at 2 days old. 😭of course the staff & nurses were there with her-and all were wonderful, she wasn’t truly alone-but that wasn’t changing how I felt not being able to be the one there with her.
The GOOD part-it instantly changed my perspective from being stressed about how I would manage 1 6 yo with Autism, a baby, AND now a newborn to just wanting to get her home-and not caring about the challenge ahead. NICU was challenging enough-and we had it so minimally compared to so many others. It’s a great breaking place to even visit-and we were so lucky by comparison! That was the other GOOD thing-it opened my eyes to a world of possibilities I WASN’T dealing with and made me so lucky we were for what situation we did have.
I wouldn’t wish the NICU on anyone!
Today is a spunky & sassy 8 year old-and I think that’s what made her fight so hard from day 1! Many more crazy details to her birth story & delivery-including this teddy bear dress she fit into at birth!! She still fights just as hard today 😂. It I know eventually trust will serve her well when she learn how to manage it 😬 We are very grateful for our and can’t imagine our family without her!! 💜🏥

I’m a little biased, but I think this is the cutest Santa I’ve ever seen! 🎅🏼😍
Over 9 YEARS ago we took Ryan Pie to Reese’s 1st grade class as part of the holiday party I threw for the class that year. We told them a ‘little Santa’ was coming, and they thought it was hilarious 👌🏼😂 I’m dying missing these parts of school, and all the kids that are always my much needed cup filler!
Hopefully we can resume next year, and we’ll just have to go even BIGGER to make up for what’s being missed now.....

This is likely my face every morning when I try to start homeschool, and Ryan turns around and takes off running. Every.single.morning 😑
But-although he STILL protests EVERY day-I keep at it, and the battle loses a little more steam each day.... 👊🏼
It’s been a process for sure, but I have noticed he’ll have a slightly less intensified fit from the previous day, or the duration will decrease just a little. 😌
Not much, but even slow & steady wins the race, and there’s no start or finish line here, you hurt keep going, and going....
Pretty much groundhog life, but with the fight getting just slightly less here & there...

A lot of people have been asking me about
-homeschooling in general
-are we still homeschooling (YES!)
-how my kids do with homeschooling
-how Ryan does with homeschooling
-how I do homeschooling
-how it works for us
-how long we’ll be homeschooling
-what it’s like/what it really entails
-am I still alive or just homeschooling
-why we are homeschooling, etc. etc.

So, that’s how it’s going! Those that have been checking in on us, asking about us, offering help- THANK YOU!
It’s much appreciated, and it’s been a mental struggle even without that little bit of support.
Those that have been wondering where we, or where I’ve gone-nowhere! 🤷🏼‍♀️
We’ve been home..... Homeschooling. 😐
Time consuming doesn’t even begin to describe how all encompassing homeschooling is.
It’s really a lot like when you have
family/house guests, and you’re just repeating cycles of cooking & then cleaning it up-just to turn around and do it all AGAIN!
That, + all the kids home 24/7 + hubby home 24/7 and that’s a full day right there-but wait-don’t forget you also have to fit in their education somewhere!

I’m working on trying to get a video of our classroom and homeschool routine for those asking. I don’t even date out a date on it right now, so let’s just say how about next year? (Sorry not sorry)
I certainly don’t expect everyone to understand, or know what it’s like to commit to this, and by your own choice.
I will say anyone who isn’t ok with me attending my own priorities has their own problem, it’s not mine!

Not only that, but also because people can & WILL wear a mask! 😷 seems simple & reasonable enough. Last time I checked, health decisions were NOT decided by opinion, and I’ve never gone to see a government official when sick.
Have you? Even when seeing a doctor, they don’t attend medical school for years to give OPINIONS.Politicians also have no requirement of medical knowledge, yet they are the ones calling the shots.....
