The Lion and the Boastful Leopard
In a dense jungle, there lived Leo, a proud leopard. Every day, Leo bragged about how fast and strong he was. “I’m the fastest in the jungle!” he said, puffing out his chest. The animals grew tired of his boasting.
One day, King Leo, the wise lion, overheard the leopard. The lion smiled and said, “Leo, would you like to race me tomorrow?”
The leopard laughed. “You, old lion? You can’t beat me!”
The next day, all the animals gathered to watch the race. The lion and leopard stood side by side. “Ready, set, go!” called the parrot.
Leo dashed ahead, showing off with leaps and spins. “I’ll still win,” he thought. But while he played, King Leo ran steadily, never stopping.
Soon, Leo grew tired and tripped on a branch. By the time he got up, the lion had reached the finish line. The animals cheered for King Leo.
Leo hung his head. “I thought I was the best,” he said.
King Leo smiled kindly. “It’s good to be proud, but boasting doesn’t win races. Hard work and focus do.”
From then on, Leo stopped bragging and started helping others. The jungle became a happier place.
