I haven’t had a serious rant in a while, so here goes:

You cannot divorce someone, continue to sleep with them and lead them on and expect them to stick around forever. Then, when they finally meet someone and move on, get remarried and start a family with someone new, get upset and attempt to blackmail them into bending to your will. Life doesn’t work that way. You made your bed. Trying to interfere with someone else’s happiness, especially someone you were in love with, says much more about you and your lack of kindness than it does about anything else. Perhaps the reason people aren’t remarried or starting their own families and moving on after nasty divorces is not just due to jealousy, but because why would someone you’re dating, living and spending time with, after seeing what you’re clearly and unapologetically doing to your ex-spouse, want to possible marry someone capable of such malicious intent and petty behavior? Why would they want to start a family with someone like that? Can you blame them? I wouldn’t want to marry someone publicly abusing and tortmenting their ex. I’ve had this on my mind for quite some time after encountering many different stories and situations, I figured I’d weigh in and get it off my chest.
