I've been blogging about my journey since 2008. Here's the latest one! If you want to read all about my vacation in the , click the link in my bio. Me and my boys had a great time (my daughter wasn't with us but off having a Midwest adventure of her own).

Also at the link, good stuff form Joe McNally Photography as he continues blogging about Olympian's; an interesting interview with ALBERT WATSON via Vogue Scandinavia; speaking of travel, Miranda Foster talks about capturing memorable moments on the road; and a cool piece, via The Daily Heller, on Saul Steinberg's assistant, (and, yes, I did just type Halen first).

Also, of course, what I'm reading this week and what I watched (more specifically, what I DIDN'T watch); the favorite lines I read this week (via Patti LuPone in Vanity Fair); and the favorite photo I saw (via Chimes at Midnight); and what I'm listening to (a lot of Imelda May)

Contrary to popular belief, summer's NOT over yet, even if vacation is.

This week…A Poconos Vacation 2024 recap… Back in December 2022, my cousin’s daughter had her wedding reception on a chilly afternoon at place called Catalpa Grove at Lakewood Park. Despite t…

Latest JSP Visual Week In Review now up on the blog. I write about being overwhelmed...and entitled. Plus, good stuff from NPR, Scott Strazzante, Andre D'Apice, and Ryan Holiday. Also, what I read, watched and listened to this week.

New JSP Visual Week In Review is up on the blog. This week, reflecting on it being mid-June already, and how summer (officially) is ready to start. Always a great time of year for me, filled with possibility.

Click the link in my bio to read more (and see a photo of me circa 1979) and for good musical stuff from Jason Isbell And The 400 Unit; good creative stuff from LEGO and Ansel Adams; A look at how Ihoworth captured a faded Britain; via GQ, what it was like for Casual Luke to catch the big wave on his break; from Eater, why NJ is the diner capital of the world (well, duh!), and the best line I read this week, via a Gary Kamiya essay.

Happy Father's Day's if you're celebrating. I'll be spending it with my kids and dogs.😊

We’re at mid-June already. School finishes up this week for my kids. Crazy how fast it seemed to go. My boys’ Spring baseball campaign is over. On to “The Second Season & #8…

New Blog Post: JSP Visual Week In Review - It's a smoky one!

“Be the first to see what you see as you see it.” ~ Robert Bresson. I love this quote.

Click the link to read about what a strange week it was. Plus, good stuff from Print Magazine, HistoryDefined, Raptitude...plus, books I've been reading, movies I've been watching and a new singer (well, new to me) that I've been listening too, Samara Joy.

Go forth and see this week!

Smoke was on the water…and in the air. A crazy week here in New Jersey. Smoke from Canadian wildfires inundated the East Coast, causing unsafe air quality measurements, and unsafe soci…

This week, I'm thinking - ok, railing against - all the "storytellers" out here now. Like "social media guru" and "content creator," it's become a water-down phrase that doesn't express anything anymore, in most cases.

Yes, maybe I'm shaking my fists at the clouds. But, there you have it.

Click the link in my bio to read more. And also find good stuff from the SmartLesspodcast + Jon Favreau; the book I'm reading from Ken Burns; a great essay from Yunghi Kim Photojournalist; a profile of street photographer Jean Andre Antoine; why they feel they need to redo 's iconic NYC logo; a good read from CrimeReadsabout 1973, and RIP to . A few other nuggets, too, including a link to a Weston documentary posted by Marc Silber
