Teachers Receive FREE Admission to Boston’s Top Family Attraction: LEGO® Discovery Center Boston

Teacher Appreciation Days are EVERYDAY Now-September 30, 2024

Somerville, MA (September 5, 2024) — LEGO Discovery Center Boston is celebrating teachers as the new school year begins, with Teacher Appreciation Days.

Running now through September 30th, teachers can enjoy free admission to the attraction. Teachers are encouraged to bring their families and friends along for the fun at a discounted rate of 50% off tickets for up to six guests.

The special promotion runs everyday in the month of September including weekends. All teachers must present a valid school I.D. or paystub upon arrival to gain entry. Teacher Appreciation Days tickets are limited and must be reserved online in advance.

New Traffic Patterns on I-495

New traffic pattern on I-495 north and southbound between Corbett Street and Route 114

ANDOVER/LAWRENCE – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing a new traffic pattern will be instituted on I-495 northbound between Corbett Street in Andover and Route 114 in Lawrence. The lane shift will be effective beginning on Wednesday, September 4, at 5:00 a.m. An additional lane shift on I-495 southbound between Route 114 in Lawrence and Corbett Street in Andover will be effective beginning at 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 5.

The north and southbound I-495 travel lanes will be slightly shifted away from the median, allowing crews enough space within the highway median to establish a safe work zone.

This work is part of a $116.7 million project to fully replace the bridges that carry I-495 over Route 28 and the MBTA’s Haverhill Commuter Rail Line.

Drivers passing through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.

Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.

All scheduled work is weather-dependent and subject to change without notice.

Daily Lane and Shoulder Closures Along I-495

Daily lane and shoulder closures are scheduled for Wednesday, September 4, to Friday, September 6, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

AMESBURY/HAVERHILL/MERRIMAC – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing it will be implementing intermittent lane and shoulder closures along I-495 northbound and southbound in Amesbury, Haverhill and Merrimac. The lane and shoulder closures will be conducted Wednesday, September 4, to Friday, September 6, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day.

The work will consist primarily of shoulder repair work in various locations under a District Wide Drainage repair contract.

Appropriate signage and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.

Drivers traveling through the affected area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
