Halloween is here and Franklin County’s little ghosts and goblins will have plenty of opportunities to trick or treat for plenty of candy.
• Royston.
Trick or treating in the Royston Wellness and Community Park will be today from 4-6 p.m.
• Lavonia.
The Lavonia Downtown Development Authority and Main Street program will host its Trick or Treating at the Gazeboo! today from 3-6 p.m. in downtown Lavonia.
A costume contest will be a part of the festivities at 5 p.m.
• Canon.
The City of Canon will hold its annual Treats of Depot event today at 6 p.m. on Depot Street.
• Franklin County High School.
The Franklin County High School Beta Club will hold a Trunk or Treat today from 5-7 p.m. in the FCHS parking lot.

The Dodger blue in the 2024 World Series will have a tinge of Franklin County Lion green.
Franklin County native Brent Honeywell and the Los Angeles Dodgers will meet the New York Yankees in the World Series beginning tonight at 8 p.m. in Los Angeles.
Game 2 will be Saturday in LA., followed by potentially three games in New York Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Games 6 and 7 will be in Los Angeles Nov. 1 and 2.

An unexpected drop in the graduation rate at Franklin County High School “has been a wake up for us,” said Superintendent Melanie Burton-Brown.
After many years of having an overall graduation rate between 91-92 percent, the 2024 rate of 88.8 percent was a surprise to the Franklin County School System’s administration.

Haunted Woods tonight at FCHS
CARNESVILLE – Franklin County High School’s theater department will host a haunted attraction Oct. 5 ahead of Halloween.
“Haunted Woods” will be held for one night only, Oct. 5, from 6:30-11 p.m. at the Telford Center for the Fine and Performing Arts on the FCHS campus.
Tickets are $10.
Those attending may bring children, who will have the opportunity to do a free coloring activity while adults and teens go through the attraction.
No bags will be allowed inside the attraction. Security and metal detectors will be in use.

Canon Fall Festival Saturday
The Canon Fall Festival will be held Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Depot Street in Canon.
The day will feature music, food and craft vendors, a cake walk and Bingo.
