MY DAUGHTER ASKED ME TO BABYSIT MY GRANDSON INSTEAD OF GOING ON MY LONG-AWAITED VACATION.

I let my daughter move into my house after her husband left her and my grandson. I pay the expenses at home, and she pays for daycare and the baby things (diapers, formula, etc.)

I, 56, have a hectic routine where I work until 5 PM, and from 6 PM to 8 PM, I stay with my grandson until my daughter arrives. So, I decided to take a month off next month to rest.

And here my daughter learns about it and asks me to BABYSIT HIM THIS MONTH to save money on daycare.

I really want to rest and a 14-month-old baby who is walking and curious...I know I won't get that rest, but I can't help but feel guilty about my daughter's situation. I love my grandson, but it is also my free time.

What would you do in my place?

So, a bit of background: My ex and I were married for 13 years, have two kids, and somehow managed to stay best friends after splitting up. We co-parent like pros, even though our marriage had its ups and downs.

Yesterday was our eldest's birthday, and we all went out for a meal. My ex has been seeing this new woman for about four months. He told me right away because we're all about keeping things clear for the kids. He asked if she could come to the birthday dinner. At that moment, the antique shop's owner, Arnold, stepped out of his office to see what the commotion was about. When he realized his manager was about to kick the homeless Harold out, he reprimanded him.

"That's no way to treat people, Adam. You must always be kind to everyone you meet," Arnold said, shaking his head. He walked towards Harold and handed him 20 dollars. "I hope you find something good to eat with this money," he said.

I was out to dinner with my wife at a cafe. We were sitting there, holding hands when I leaned over to kiss Mara, and a strange woman suddenly walked up to us.

Woman, screaming, "So you had to work tonight?! You had an emergency surgery? You CHEAT! We are over!" She threw her glass of wine in my face! I was soaked and furious.

Me: I'm sorry, honey, I don't know her!

Woman: Are you his girlfriend?!
Mara: I'm his wife!

I SAW A CHILD ON THE SCHOOL BUS HITTING THE BACK WINDOW AND YELLING FOR HELP

As I merged back into traffic, a yellow school bus rumbled past me. Something caught my eye in the back window: a little girl, her face pressed against the glass, tiny fists pounding frantically.

"What the?" I gasped.

Without thinking, I gunned the engine, racing after the bus. The child was clearly in distress, but why?

"I'm coming, hold on, sweetie," I mumbled, honking my horn repeatedly.

I swerved around the bus and cut in front, forcing it to a stop in the middle of the busy road.

The driver, a burly man with a thick black mustache, stormed out. "What kinda stunt are you pulling, lady? You coulda caused an accident!"

I ignored him, pushing past and rushing onto the bus. The noise hit me like a wall. The kids were flocked around the girl, shouting and laughing. I raced to the back, where the little girl sat alone, her face now red and tear-streaked. ⬇️

MY EX-HUSBAND GOT OUR HOUSE, CAR, AND ALL OUR MONEY AFTER THE DIVORCE – I LAUGHED BECAUSE THAT WAS EXACTLY WHAT I'D PLANNED

My marriage with Mike was done way before we signed any papers. He'd been more into his flashy image than into us for ages. Big cars, big house — if it screamed "Look at me," he wanted it. So when he finally told me he wanted a divorce, I wasn't shocked. What got me, though, was how quick he was to grab everything. "I want the house, the car, the savings," he said, all smug. He even tossed me the crumbs — my personal stuff, as if that was some generous offer.

I just smiled and nodded. I let him take it all because I knew what was coming. My lawyer looked at me like I was crazy, but I told her to let him have it. We signed the divorce papers, and I moved out that afternoon. I was eager to start my new life, but not before making one final call. Everything was set.

Holding my newborn son in my arms, I was overwhelmed with a deep love I had never felt before. One thought marred the moment. I thought about how little I was when my parents left me at the foster home. I didn't understand, now that I was a father myself, how anyone could do that to their child. My parents were wealthy, so being poor was not a reason to leave me. They just didn't want me in their lives.

So, after 57 years of them leaving me and not being in my life, I got a call from a lawyer. He said my parents are in a nursing home, their trust funds are depleted, and they will be on the street in six months. My heart was pounding out of my chest, but I was determined to meet them. 👇

At our family Thanksgiving dinner, my daughter couldn't sit still. She kept glancing out the window like she was waiting for someone. When we all sat down to eat, and I was about to carve the turkey, she suddenly stood on her chair and shouted loud enough for everyone to hear, "And where is SHE?!"

"Who?" I asked, feeling a tight knot form in my chest.

"Well, the woman Dad hides in our shed! He always goes to see her when you're at work or the store! I saw her with my OWN eyes!"

I dropped the knife. My husband went pale. My parents, my in-laws, everyone was staring at him. My daughter grabbed my hand and said, "Come on, let's go to the shed and bring her here."

THANKSGIVING WITH MY BOYFRIEND'S FAMILY WAS PERFECT UNTIL THEY SHOWED ME THEIR FAMILY PHOTOS.

After a delicious dinner with the warm atmospere, his mom beamed at me. "So, Liz, since you're new here, why don't we show you some of Jim's childhood pictures? You'll love them!"

Jim: "Mom, no. Let's not."
Mom: "Oh, come on! It's a tradition."

We all gathered in the living room. The first few photos were adorable: baby Jim in a high chair, toddler Jim in a Spiderman costume.

But then, as we flipped a page, my eyes landed on a picture that made my heart skip a beat. A young woman stood in the background of the family photo, slightly blurry but noticeable. She wasn't smiling, and something about her presence seemed... off.

Me: "Who's that? There, behind you all. The woman."

Jim's Mom frowned, and everyone leaned in closer.

"I… I don't remember anyone being there," she said nervously.
"Wait… she’s in another one!" Jim's brother yelled.

He flipped to the next page, and there she was again, in the background of another photo, standing by a tree this time.

Jim's mom clutched her chest. "What is happening?! Who IS she? Why is she in our photos?"

WOMAN LOST HER HUSBAND FOR 17 YEARS — ONE DAY, HE RETURNED OUT OF NOWHERE.

We were 15 years old, just kids in high school, and somehow, we already knew we'd be together for life.

I came home early and overheard my husband talking to our 4-year-old, Mike, upstairs. I paused to listen.

Husband: "Buddy, just promise you'll never tell your mom about what you saw, alright?"
Son: "Okay, daddy. But why is it a secret? I don't like secrets."
Husband: "It's not a secret. Just forget it, or else mom might be sad. You don't want that, right?"
Son: "Yeah, daddy."

I SET UP HIDDEN CAMERAS IN MY MOM'S HOUSE AFTER THINGS BEGAN TO DISAPPEAR, BUT WHAT I SAW STILL GIVES ME CHILLS.

I did everything I could for my sister. I bent over backward to help her, to make her happy, but nothing ever seemed good enough. She was always dissatisfied, always wanted more. Then one day, I started noticing things disappearing — jewelry, keepsakes, and a few family treasures. They were just gone.

I couldn't shake the feeling it had to be my "golden sister," the one who always got away with everything. She was Mom's favorite, the one who could do no wrong. When I confronted her, she brushed me off like it was nothing, saying it was "just some stuff for work." I wanted to believe her, but something felt off — so off that I couldn't let it go.

Of course, Mom didn't believe me. She defended her, like always, acting like I was the bad guy for even questioning her. I felt crazy, like maybe I was overthinking it. But I knew. Deep down, I knew something wasn't right.

So, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I set up hidden cameras in Mom's house... I told myself it was just to be sure, just to settle my nagging suspicion. Then, all I could do was wait.
