During his competitive gaming career Fatal1ty placed 1st in 65% of all the competitions he entered and top 3 in 90% of them. In August 2007, Johnathan was awarded the first ever Lifetime Achievement Award in the four-year history of the eSports-Award for “showing exceptional sportsmanship, taking part in shaping eSports into what it is today and for being the prime representative of this young sport. He has become the figurehead for eSports worldwide.”

What does it take to be a professional gamer? 🎯

Practice, determination, focus, never giving up, skill, ability or ALL THE ABOVE?🏆

I had so much fun practicing and training for tournaments. From hand picking my training partners based on their skills and playstyles was a real joy to me.

My sparring partners playstyles would range from aggressive, defensive, strategic, crazy and insanely talented.

Knowing how to combat each opponent and being able to adjust to those playstyles as fast as possible allowed me to always be one step ahead of my opponent and predict what he would do next.

Practice, practice, practice.
