We are excited to have Bobby Lacer and Little Chicago Pictures returning as part of our festival family.

Bobby Lacer is an award-winning director, producer, and writer. His current feature FIGHTING THE FIRE continues to collect festival awards from around the world. It is streaming now on multiple platforms. Bobby’s first appearance as an actor was in 2018. One year later, he wrote his first script and produced his first film, sparking the creation of his production company, Little Chicago Pictures. He still makes the occasional appearance on camera, but production has become his passion.

Lacer's resume also includes multiple awards in the music industry. Winning several state and national vocal contests from his days at the University of Kentucky, vocal work for commercial and studio projects, and signing with two record labels, as both a solo artist and member of a band.

This includes production companies, studios, talent agencies, lighting and sound companies, costume design companies, colleges, schools, universities with industry-related programs, and other service providers. Churches hosting theatrical or musical performances or that want to be involved are also welcome to list here.

Producer-director-filmmaker and acclaimed classical singer Susheel Bibbs has been called “splendid, piquant, and charming” by the press and “quite simply superb” by US opera and concert critics worldwide. Winner of a national EMMY, she was once the youngest Executive producer of a national PBS series and is the winner of over 26 independent film awards, including 2 Telly Awards and 3 awards for directing. In both The Arts and Humanities, the San Francisco Supervisors have awarded Bibbs their Highest Commendation and the title “foremost expert on Mary Pleasant, California's Mother of Civil Rights, ” (whom Bibbs researched for over 30 years), and she now has two documentaries on Mary Pleasant and one on The Hyers Sisters on PBS nationally.

Bibbs has been profiled nationally on PBS Arts Showcase and has received a Lifetime Achievement Award in Marquis Who’s Who Among Women. She is the founder of The Living Heritage Foundation, which helps expand the careers of other professional artists.

This 115 minute feature, written and directed by Bobby Lacer, invites audiences into the compelling narrative of Brian Cook, a seasoned firefighter portrayed by James Dickey. Through poignant storytelling and exceptional performances, "Fighting the Fire" immerses viewers in the behind-the-scenes world of firefighting, shedding light on the internal torment it can inflict on first responders.

Lacer addresses the reality of depression and the toll it takes on our first responders, while emphasizing the critical need for support and understanding. He effectively conveys the powerful message that even with the right help, some individuals may slip through the cracks if we do not answer the call to serve others with a faith centered compassion and empathy.

The pacing of the film is well-timed, allowing the dramatic dialogue to captivate the audience and forge a deep connection with each character's experience. The simple and effective structure provides a clear setup, middle, and resolution, guiding the viewers through a compelling narrative.
