This will be the last post on this page.

So, my beloved KUNV 91.5 HD3 Where Jazz Lives (where I had my Sunday Afternoon Jazz Show for 6 years and 4 months) is officially no more. The station switched to a simulcast of KUNR from Reno at UNR (University of Nevada Reno) earlier today. Thanks to everyone who listened to my show on Sundays. I am doing background work mainly for our main station 91.5 HD1 Jazz and More, and even a bit for the Rebel HD2, so I’m staying with KUNV, probably for a long time to come.

This is Sunday Afternoon Jazz with Sam and this will be my final show, as HD3 will be going through a major format change (tentative date is February 1st) because this coming show will be the last one, I will be doing a much longer show which will start at 8 am PST and go until 4 pm PST. The show will be an 8 hour twofers extravaganza. I’ll be playing different genres as well, (even 4 Beatles songs!) including my Spotlight Artists of Paul Hardcastle with the 2nd half of Hardcastle 2 from 1996, and some songs from Paul’s next album from 1997, First Light, and then Shakatak with songs from their last album for the 80’s, Niteflite, and then some songs from 1990’s Fiesta. The last song for the show will be a special song. I am sad to see my show end, as I have been on HD3 since 2016. I promise to put on a great last show for all you wonderful listeners from all around the world. This is the return of Sunday Afternoon Jazz with Sam on KUNV 91.5 HD3 Where Jazz Lives from 12-4 pm PST with the 2nd of 3 Twofers shows, 2 songs back to back of an artist or band. I have a great show planned, with some surprises along the way along with some new music, including a world premier. I’ll also be continuing my Spotlight Artists, first, Paul Hardcastle with the second half of his 1995 album JazzMasters 2, then moving to his 1996 album Look to the Future. Shakatak next with the last 2 songs from Manic & Cool and the last 2 songs from Da Makani, then moving on to their 1989 album Turn the Music Up. It will be a double helping of both Spotlight Artists. I’ll also be doing tributes to Jeff Beck and now Lisa Marie Presley who both passed away this week on today’s show. Twofers of different artists including some new music will be played today. Also will continue with my Spotlight Artists Paul Hardcastle with JazzMasters II and Hardcastle 1, and Shakatak with Manic & Cool and Da Makani. Please be listening in!

This is the return of Sunday Afternoon Jazz with Sam on KUNV 91.5 HD3 Where Jazz Lives from 12-4 pm PST! I have a great show planned! Today’s show will be just a tad bit different as the show will feature some great Jazz Funk of the 70’s/80’s/early 90’s along with double of my Spotlight Artists, Paul Hardcastle, playing several songs from JazzMasters 1 from 1992/93 and 4 songs from his next album, Time for Love from 1993, then Shakatak with their next 2 albums, Out of the Blue from 1986 and Golden Wings from 1987. The albums were the beginning of Shakatak’s more instrumental period of albums up until the early 90’s. Some of the Jazz Funk songs that are going to be played on the show are being played on the show for the first time. Artists from Herb Alpert to Lonnie Liston Smith will be played. Happy New Year! This is the long-awaited return of Sunday Afternoon Jazz with Sam on KUNV 91.5 HD3 Where Jazz Lives with the 1st of the final 5 shows. I have a great show planned! The show will feature the 60’s to today. For the 80’s, I’ll be mixing it up a bit with two 4-song sets of classics and favorites. For the 2000’s, I’ll be featuring some brand new music including 2 musicians being played for the first time on the show. I’ll also be playing the next albums from my Spotlight Artists, Paul Hardcastle with songs from his Kiss the Sky project from 1991, and Shakatak with their next album City Rhythm from 1985. This is the return of a special all Christmas music filled show on KUNV 91.5 HD3 Where Jazz Lives at a special time from 10 am to 6 pm, 8 hours of nothing but Christmas Music from the 1940’s to the 2000’s artists ranging from Gene Autry to Andy Williams will be heard. The first half of the show is the 40’s to the 70’s and the second half, the 80’s to the 2000’s. I have a great Christmas show planned! This is also the last show of 2022, and will return again on January 1st. This is the return of Sunday Afternoon Jazz with Sam on KUNV 91.5 HD3 Where Jazz Lives from 12p-4p PST! I have a great show planned! during the show I’ll be doing a tribute to Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac fame who sadly passed away on Wednesday. I’ll be playing her 2 big hits and 6 Fleetwood Mac songs that Christine sang lead on from the 70’s and 80’s. I’ll also be continuing my two Spotlight Artists, Paul Hardcastle with some singles he released from 1988-1991. Then Shakatak with their very first live album, live in Japan from 1984. Starting the show with some great 60’s and 70’s Contemporary Jazz, then going into the 80’s, 90’s & 2000’s. And ending with a couple of new songs.
