In response to the devastating mass shooting that occurred at Young Park on March 21, 2025, the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico, in partnership with the City of Las Cruces and Doña Ana County, has activated the Together Las Cruces Crisis Action Fund.

The Together for Las Cruces Crisis Action Fund serves as a vital resource, enabling our community to unite and offer immediate support during times of tragedy and devastation. Currently, this fund is actively dedicated to providing direct assistance to the families and victims profoundly impacted by the mass shooting that occurred on March 21, 2025. Our hearts and deepest sympathies are with all those affected.

Here is your Pet of the Week over at Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley Urso. My journey started when my sister and I were abandoned at a fire station. She’s already found her family, and now I’m patiently waiting for mine! Even though I had a rough start, I’m a sweet, playful pup with a big heart. I love to zoom around and explore, but once I’ve had my fun, I’m all about affection. I’m working hard on my manners... volunteers say I take treats gently and I'm learning to walk nicely on a leash. Sometimes I get a bit excited, but I settle down quickly and just want to be by your side. With a little love and consistency, I know I can be a fun friend to have around.

Here are your Pets of the Week over at The Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley. Johnny Bravo your Cat of the Week, Is a charming tomcat who’s won over the hearts of the awesome team here with his sweet and affectionate personality. I’m all about headbutts, loud purrs, and I’ve got a bit of an elevator butt. Since arriving at the center, I’ve needed some medical care, and while I wasn’t exactly thrilled about a few things (can you blame me?!), I stayed gentle through it all. I’m a brave boy, and if there’s one thing I’ve proven, it’s that I’m as resilient as I am lovable. I’d make a wonderful companion for a family who appreciates a friendly, social guy who’s been through a lot but still has so much love to give.

Honey is your Dog of the Week, and is a big, sweet, and playful girl still waiting here at the center for my furever home. I’ve got the heart of a gentle giant... affectionate, social, and full of life! I love running around the play yard, playing fetch, and going on fun adventures. I’m hoping to find an active home that can keep up with me and my zest for life. With time, love, and a little training, I know I’ll shine even brighter! I’m food motivated, which makes learning new things pretty fun. I’ve made lots of new friends, both human and doggy, and I can’t get enough attention, bum scratches, and cuddles. I’m ready to be your adventure buddy and cuddle partner! Both Johnny Bravo and Honey are free until next Friday. Visit with the today at The Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley. Here are your Pets of the Week over at Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley. Tilly is your Cat of the Week and when she first
arrived at ASCMV, she was a bit shy, but with some time and patience, she has really come out of my shell. Now, she is a total love bug! She absolutely adores gentle pets, and when she is happy, she will purr up a storm and even chirp for attention. I love making biscuits to show you just how content I am. I thrive on affection and will soak up all the love you want to give me. I prefer to be the queen of my castle and a single-cat home would be ideal for me. Can’t wait to meet you!

Your Dog of the Week is Agustin
Is a sweet and playful puppy ready for endless adventures! I am always ready to play, chase a ball, or just shower you with love and puppy kisses. Here are your Pets of the Week over at the Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley.
Your Cat of the week Fish Stix is a sweet and affectionate kitten under a year old, and is ready to find her furever home! From the moment she arrived, I’ve been winning hearts with my friendly, playful personality. During intake, I was purring, headbutting, and even making biscuits. What can I say? I love attention! I’ve only been at the center for a short time, so the staff is still getting to know me, but one thing’s for sure, I’m curious, cuddly, and full of love.

Your Dog of the week Dice has been at ASCMV since he was just a puppy, and is still waiting for his perfect home. He might be a little shy at first, but once I get to know you, my true personality shines! I love to run, play, and, of course, enjoy some tasty treats while I build my confidence. I’d do best in a home where I can be the only pet, that way I can soak up all the love and attention. With a little patience and a quiet, loving environment, I know I’ll be a wonderful companion.

I'm a delightful pup full of energy. I love to chase after toys and play games. People say I'm friendly to be around as I'm eager to make new friends. I have a playful spirit that's sure to bring a lot of laughter and happiness to any home. Meet Dino ( #78847), a sweet and playful boy! Dino is very friendly and affectionate, especially when he's outside or getting attention. He walks well on a leash and gets along with other dogs. He’s a strong boy who would benefit from some behavior training to help him settle into a home. Dino isn't the most high energy dog we've had but still loves to play, and he may be a bit vocal when he wants attention. It's just his way of saying, "I’m here, and I want to play!" Dino would love to find his furever valentine soon.

Kennedy is your Cat of the week and is a sweet and affectionate boy who will melt your heart! I might be a little shy when it comes to being picked up, but once I’m comfortable, I’m a total lovebug. I’ll happily accept affection, purring, and making biscuits while getting pets. Despite a recent injury, I’m still incredibly sweet and let my humans handle me with ease, purring all the while. I’m looking for a loving home where I can get all the attention and care I deserve and both are free right now at Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley.
