⚠️Mountain Lions Sighting⚠️
We have received information about 2 mountain lions sightings today, and they have been confirmed. We have officers in the area near where they were seen. The area is near the 359 / Loop 20 near the SAC and the surrounding neighborhoods.

We are providing this information out of an abundance of caution. We are working diligently to confirm the location of the animals. If you live near this area, please take necessary precautions and report any sightings immediately to 9-1-1. As always, be alert to your surroundings as these animals like to hide in tall brush. We recommend taking precautions if you have any domestic animals or livestock. We will post updates as they become available.

President Joe Biden announces he supports Vice President Kamala Harris as the nominee for the Democratic Party.

My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.

Public Safety Advisory / South Laredo Area

The Laredo Police Department is issuing this public notice to inform the community about a reported incident at Dryden Park involving an underaged minor. On Tuesday, June 26th, an alleged assault was reported to have occurred at approximately 1 a.m. The details of this incident are currently unverified and are actively under investigation by our department.

At this early stage, we are advising the community to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings, particularly for an unidentified man possibly riding a scooter. Given the preliminary nature of the investigation, the available description is limited.

It is important to remind everyone that city parks, including Dryden Park, close at 11 p.m. Additionally, underaged minors should not be out without parental supervision during late overnight hours. This reminder is crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of our youth.

The dissemination of this advisory is aimed at informing the community to an ongoing case at the park.

We note that this case is still in its early phases, and as our investigation progresses and more information becomes available and vetted, we will provide updates to the public through official channels.

We highly recommend relying on official sources of information to prevent the spread of misinformation and rumors. Your cooperation is vital in maintaining public safety and supporting our ongoing efforts.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely, Laredo Police Department
