Well, it's been a great last few weeks here at Thunderground Sound Studio. We had super fun sessions with two great Laramie bands. First, CAVALRY came in to lay down some new tracks as they continue to get ready for recording an album. CAVALRY's members - Angel, Thomas, Cole, and Niall - shook the walls with their powerful sound; great tunes and great performances.

Then, de Gringos y Gremmies came in and laid down a boatload of Xmas tunes over two days, plus a couple of new non-Xmas songs. Just yesterday, they brought in the "Laramie Friends and Family Choir" to do a little gang-singing on one of the Xmas songs. It's always a blast with these guys and the garage surf vibe they bring. HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYBODY! Isn't it time to get those songs recorded you've always wanted to record?! Give us a shout. In the meantime, let's make 2026 a safe, healthy, and happy year.

Here are a couple pics from a recent session with two great musicians - Grammy-winner Shelby Means and the multi-talented Joel Timmons. Shelby toured with Molly Tuttle for quite a while and these two perform together in various configurations, including "Sally and George". They were in Thunderground trying out some new material. By the way, you should check out their new solo albums. Self-titled "Shelby Means" is full of an all-star lineup of musicians and is a great collection of Shelby's tunes. Joel's new one, "Psychedelic Surf Country" is likewise, a perfect example of Joel's talent and creativity. Grab em'!

Some pics from last week's sessions with Garrett LeBeau, a great musician and songwriter from Lander and Austin. Garrett brought some excellent players with him, including the cool cat Andy Phraener, long-time drummer with the Jalan Crossland Band. These guys toted the 145 Leslie and the very cool Wurlitzer down the death stairs into the studio and man, they sounded great. Funky good time.

Kathryn Harding dropped in to finish off some vocals on her project. Great Stuff. Be on the lookout for this when it arrives. Also finished a two-day project with my old friends, Garrett LeBeau and Andy Phreaner. Funky fun! Photos to come soon, so tune back in!

We've had some great sessions, both before and since the "great flood"! Super fun working with my good friends and excellent musicians the past few months. Hey everybody, Sorry for the long hiatus from posting. Finally back up and running after pretty severe flood damage back in May. Photos show outside building damage and inside damage to studio, including having to replace all the carpeting (one of the perils of being in the basement of a building!) Anyway, back in business with all new carpeting and everything back where it belongs (lots of rewiring!) and running smoothly. Getting back on some projects that were started before the flood and really enjoying working with these fine folks again. Ten Cent Stranger is wrapping up some new tunes and Katherine Harding is closing in on the end of her project. Had a great session with Shelby Means and Joel Timmons last week, so moving back into full speed ahead. Give a shout if you need some end-of-summer recording. We're ready!!

Yes, there's lots going on in Laramie this weekend! Tomorrow night - in case you forgot - is the OPEN HOUSE at Thunderground Sound Studio. There's also a big parade downtown and, of course, Fridays at the Buck, with some great music as always. If you're out and about at any of these events, take a few minutes to drop by the studio and check out what's new down here at Thunderground. The open house runs from 4-8 PM. Come by and grab some free food and drink and let's talk music, or recording, or whatever else you wanna talk about! We're offering some great deals on recording time, so you don't want to miss out. Well, drummers might have mentioned a time or two that my old drum thrones were less than comfortable. So, I listened and now we have a brand new Roc-n-Soc hydraulic throne! When I sat on this I said to myself, now I understand. Plus, the red seat is cool, man!

Hey folks! I noticed that this past
Friday at the Norwood featured some good friends of mine - Bonamo; and Shawn Hess - both of whom we've had the pleasure to record here at Thunderground Sound Studio. We've been very fortunate over the past 16 years to record some of Wyoming's finest artists, including J Shogren, Jalan Crossland, The Two Tracks, Sally and George, Blind Dog Smokin', Big Dill, and De Gringos y Gremmis, just to name a few. Stay tuned to FB as I'll post some examples of the great music each week that's come from our room. Don't forget, music is the sound of our souls!
