St. John Parish is preparing for tonight's Independence Celebration!

The annual Independence Day Celebration and fireworks show will be held on the grounds of St. Peter Catholic Church, 1550 Highway 44, Reserve, LA, and the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2349 Louisiana 18, Egard, LA starting at 6:00 p.m.

The celebrations will culminate with a firework display on the Mississippi River beginning promptly at 9:00 p.m. The firework show will be filmed and televised live on the Government Access Channel.

Please be advised that roads next to St. Peter Catholic Church and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church will close about ten minutes before the firework show.

We are looking forward to a fun evening and hope to see you there!

Windy Wednesday ahead. Tropical Storm Warning just off our coast along with Gale Warning. Expect winds to gust between 30-40 mph. The disturbance in the Gulf will move into Texas/Mexico later tonight taking most of the rain with it. Highest tides (coastal flooding) will be most noticeable later this morning lasting into the early afternoon.
