Today in White history

Today is slavery remembrance day. And like Memorial Day it's not actually A-day to celebrate but to remember. How we remember it is different depending on your race. Remember senator Tom Cotton who said that slavery was a necessary evil? For a nation that professes to be mostly Christian the question then is when does evil become necessary? Slavery was not "in voluntary relocation" as the governor of Texas wants text books to say.

Here is what Cotton said in an interview.

"We have to study the history of slavery and its role and impact on the development of our country because otherwise we can't understand our country. As the founding fathers said, it was the necessary evil upon which the union was built, but the union was built in a way, as Lincoln said, to put slavery on the course to its ultimate extinction," Cotton told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in an article that was published on Sunday.

Slavery was kidnapping, human trafficking, hostage taking, ideological aggression and forced labor. And that is what we must remember.
