Juneteenth celebrates African American freedom while encouraging self-development and respect for all cultures. As it takes on a more national and even global perspective, the events of 1865 in Texas are not forgotten, for all of the roots tie back to this fertile soil from which a national day of pride is growing. The future of Juneteenth looks bright as the number of cities and states come on board and form local committees and organizations to coordinate the activities.

What happens when you need to shoot on beat for a rhythm-based commercial? This is how we did it for the Lancaster Chamber Open Video. Our composer, Jacob Yoffee, produced the first version of the music and sound at 118 BPM so we could make sure the athletes dribbled on the beat. We used a click track, but the gym was so loud that Danielle needed extra amplification—Derek's clapping saved the day!

Dr. Randall Oyer's work contributed to saving Derek's life during his cancer journey. He also made a deep impact in our community and is retiring after an incredible 40-year career as the Executive Medical Director. He was part of designing and building the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute. We had the privilege of capturing his story and the impact of the Cancer Institute in our surrounding areas.

See what our Director of Photography, Aaron had to say about his creative approach to the documentary short - "My approach to my cinematography is to create a world that further develops the story. My goal is to light scenes in a way that doesn't distract the viewer but enhances the moment. When Andrew described this project to us, I knew that it would be very dramatic and more somber. I went in the shoot wanting to play with silhouettes and mixed color temps. I felt that deep blues and gold tones together would really make certain moments more deep and emotional. We didn’t get a chance to scout this location before the shoot, so I knew that I would need to really rely on practicals to be a big part of how we lit it. This experience was a true collaboration with Andrew, and I’m really happy with how it turned out!"
