Today in KTPI History: Jan. 23, 2015 - was at #1 on the Country Album charts with his 6th album, "Old Boots, New Dirt". The album was his 2nd #1, and featured the #1 hit single, ""Burnin' It Down" and Top 10 singles "Just Gettin' Started", "Tonight Looks Good on You" and "Gonna Know We Were Here".

To date, "Old Boots, New Dirt" has sold 1.2 million copies.

Tens of thousands of residents remain under evacuation orders and warnings Thursday morning as firefighters continue to battle for containment on the Hughes Fire that erupted near Castaic.

Roughly 31,000 people, including residents of Castaic, were under evacuation orders. A portion of Ventura County near Lake Piru was also placed in the mandatory evacuation zone. About 23,000 more were under evacuation warnings, including residents of Ventura County south of Lake Piru.

Luke Combs and Eric Church will share the CRS 2025 Artist Humanitarian Award, an accolade that will be presented to them during the annual Country Radio Seminar conference in Nashville in February.

That award typically goes to just one artist, whose philanthropic contributions stood out in the previous year. But Church and Combs worked together on a massively impactful project in 2024. That was the Concert for Carolina, a benefit even they planned for Hurricane Helene relief efforts in October.

On Monday, Carrie Underwood attended the inauguration of President Trump to perform “America The Beautiful,” which ended up being a stunning a capella performance after some technical difficulties delayed the start.

And it appears as though the millions of people around the world are diving back into some of Carrie’s music after watching her earlier this week, as three of her albums have reappeared back in the top 10 on the iTunes country albums chart, with two of them currently sitting in the top two spots.

The album and songs from the album reached #1 simultaneously on all five main Billboard country charts, a first for any artist. These were: Top Country Albums, Hot Country Songs, Country Airplay, Country Digital Song Sales and Country Streaming Songs.

To date, the album has been certified for sales of over 3 million units.

A brush fire broke out near Castaic Wednesday morning. The fire, dubbed the Hughes Fire, was announced shortly before 10:45 a.m. by the Angeles National Forest.

Early estimates from CalFire put the blaze at approximately 50 acres until it grew to about 100 acres close to 11:30 a.m. Evacuations have been ordered for the areas near Lake Castaic, and other nearby areas are under evacuation warnings.

The hit reality television show Duck Dynasty is officially coming back to televisions across America. Originally airing from 2012 to 2017, the show followed the lives of the Robertson family, who became successful from their family-operated business, Duck Commander.

A new, rebooted series is called Duck Dynasty: The Revival, and although it will be following the same Robertson family, that family has grown and lived a lot of life in the eight year gap since it ended.

The hit reality television show 'Duck Dynasty' is officially coming back.

"Jesus, Take The Wheel" would go on to win the ACM Award for Single of The Year, as well the Grammys for Best Country Song and Best Female Country Vocal Performance. To date, the song has sold over 2.7 million copies.
